Your profile pic shows up just fine, even though it's tiny. Click me to see it and change it, if you want. The profile pic can be a lot bigger than the one you have - 250 by 250 pixels or 29.3 KB (whichever is smaller).
Now if you're talking about the pics people have under their names by their posts, those are avatars (AVs for short), not profile pics (which show up when you click on someone's name or opt to view their profile). You can't get an avatar until you have at least 100 posts. There are more details on avatars HERE, in the FAQ sticky thread (also at the top of the main How To page).
