Profile Pic Removal Help Needed

I decided to change my profile pic.

First I tried simply uploading a new one directly.
Saved changes, nothing, still displayed my old pic.

So then I deleted the old pic.
Saved Changes.
Uploaded new pic.
Saved changes.

My old profile pic shows up again.

I went through that process over half a dozen times, always deleting first, saving, then uploading a new one and saving.
Each time, the old profile pic shows up.

It should be impossible since it's a web address for the old one and nothing I uploaded.

So checking the help, I see help for changing my Avatar.

That suggested deleting the only Avatar, logging out, clearing the cache, logging back in and then uploading the new one.

So I followed this process for my profile pic instead.

Deleted it, saved, logged out, cleared the cache, logged back in and then uploaded the new one.

When I clicked save changes, boom, my old profile pic had returned.
I'm not even sure how that's possible.

So I did THAT process again.
Deleted it, logged out, cleared the cache, even cleared the cookies this time, logged back in, uploaded the new pic.
Clicked save and the old profile pic STILL was there.
STILL!

Changing one stupid picture shouldn't be this hard or fustrating.
I can't even think now of what else to do to get it to work.
It's making me feel like some sort of computer novice, it should be a simple matter of just clicking my mouse a couple times!

Can anyone out there help?

Nevermind this thread and it's clone, whatever was killing Lit and making posts not appear last 2 days is to blame.

It works as stupidly easy as it should now, I don't really need help after all.
