Problem with quoting

Hi all, I have a problem handling the quoting function properly.

I may be wrong, but I think it does work only, if I do first highlight the original text, add it to "quote", then (!) open the reply window, and then the according "insert quote" dialog appears and quoting works like expected.

If I do have the reply window already open, probably already have inserted some text, and now go up to a different author's post and select text for quoting, I can do so, but in my answer window the "insert quotes" dialog does never appear. Unfortunately this behavior is a bit inconststent, there must be more conditions when the "insert quotes" dialog does not appear. I tryed to reproduce it by will, and failed, but it happens regularly when I just use the forum.

Can anyone advise me how I can quote text in this situation? What is the reason, "insert quotes" disappears from the answer window?

I do it sort of different.

The Insert Quotes dialog appears in the reply box at the bottom of the thread. I let it do that and insert the quotes. I then cut all from there and paste it into the box I'm working in. Then edit out the parts of the quote I don't need, leaving only what I'm replying to.

A bit more complicated that it should be, but it works.
