problem with direct 3D ???

hey folks..
i'm trying to play a LOTR demo game.. it installs just fine but it gives me this message when i try to play the game..

no valid direct3D device located. please update your video card.


ok..cool.. so where do i go to get this update ???
a search on the net yielded little help.

That error usually comes up when you either have old video drivers and an old version of DirectX, or you have an older video card that is not supported (or no video card at all). If you know the kind of card that you have in the computer, go to the manufacturer's website and they should have the latest drivers for it. Also check out this link for the latest DirectX version.
