Printer Recommendations?

HP Photosmart 4385

I have a HP Photosmart 4385. I got it for < $100-00 at best buy.

It is working good for me.

I would suggest to go for a wireless printer. It is more convinient.

Okay, so we ended up buying the J4550 at Costco today. I'm excited because I thought it was just a printer, and it's actually a copier, scanner and fax w/ an auto doc feeder as well. It doesn't have wireless networking or memory card slots, but for $70, it's all we need and then some. I also won't feel bad if it kicks the bucket in a few years given the price.

And, well, if we really don't like it or find a screamin' deal on something else or it turns out to be a lemon, we have a year to take it back.

Once we get it printing, I'll let you know how it goes.

hey erika, did you get it installed and working yet?

ed
We did, and it's working great, save for a few linux network-related hiccups along the way. It's WAY faster than our old printer and even fast draft comes out super nice. I've not had a chance to try the scan, copy or fax functions yet, but we're very happy with the printer overall so far, especially since it was well within our budget. Seeing how well this one is working, I'm glad I didn't go with one of the $140 models, which would have been way more than we needed in terms of price and features.

We'll have to see how it does long-term and with ink refills, but so far I think it was a fantastic purchase.
