Again, another non-blood related taboo idea.
Priest never had much trouble remaining celibate he’s a worldly person but overall never met anyone he felt much of a connection with.
Then his brother gets married and priest finds himself getting attracted to his new wife.
Some ideas:
1. Brother is in the army and deploys while wife is left at home. Priest wants to help wife out so he invites her to lots of church functions but brother’s wife doesn’t feel quite welcome there so he winds up visiting her at her home a lot. One night they get a little drunk and they share a kiss or even get little frisky. At first they try to brush it off…then they start making excuses for why it’s okay, then they have a full on affair, trying to keep it a secret from brother
2. Brother passes away, leaving his pregnant wife behind. Priest is a massive support to her during the grieving process and he soon starts helping her out with everything his brother would have…of course what everyone but the two of them don’t know is that she’s carrying priest’s child.
3. Brother is still around but doesn’t suspect anything. He’s normally pretty controlling with wife but sees his brother as a non threat since he’s a priest and in brother’s own word, “a pussy.” Of course, he has no idea that the two of them are fucking like mad.
I figure it would be fun to explore the dynamic.
One idea I had is that priest thought he was asexual but he’s really demisexual (in other words he needs a romantic connection to someone before he gets sexually attracted to them)
Another is that wife likes the relationship not just out of attraction but she has complicated feeling about religion and fidelity already and feels priest can help her with that: she likes the idea of corrupting a man of the cloth but also wants it to be someone who isn’t a bad guy, or she wants to step outside of her marriage but wants it to be with someone who would also be looked down on if the affair was exposed.
Finally I thought it would be funny if the parishioners know the whole time…but they don’t really care since:
1. He’s still a good priest
2. He ain’t a diddler
