I just put 6 gallons of gas in my car and it cost me 12 fucking dollars! $1.96/ gallon. Son of a bitch.

Makes me long for the Clinton adminstration, when our president was getting impeached for getting a blow job in the Oval Office, but gas was 98 cents a gallon.

Anybody else paying more than $1.96?

$2.08 at the station down the street from my office... and that's just regular. Premium is $2.40.

Makes me glad I got rid of my one-ton (12 miles to the gallon) when I did and not mind driving my little wagon (30 miles to the gallon) so much.

I can only dream of such low prices.

$2.35 in San Francisco for the regular unleaded. Went up 8 cents this week.

$2.05 for regular.

I'm dreading the trips to the lake when I have to fill up the truck and the boat at the same time.

And our gas is still cheaper than almost everywhere else in the world.

I have a van. It has a 25 gallon tank. At 2.22 a gallon this week it was $50 bucks to fill it.
Ouch. :(

Yes, but they're smarter than most Americans, they don't drive SUV's the size of Kansas. They also have diesels that get 50+ mpg.

I love the way you say that as though we have no choice in the matter. ;)

Back to the lake thing. My truck has a 22 gallon tank, and my boat has a 40 gallon tank. Ouch........................

But now diesel isn't much cheaper than regular, if at all.

I've woken with indigestion and thought I might find a paliative here - foolish me!

In Portugal we pay slightly over 1 Euro a litre - about 5$80 a gallon.

Last time I'm turning the computer on in the middle of the night.

You want proof of how stupid some Americans are? Do you know what the number one complaint that people had about their new Hummer H2's last year was? Poor gas mileage. Well no fucking shit you morons... it's a freaking office building on wheels.

BTW... Hyundai Elantra Wagon... 14 gallon tank x 30 mpg x $2 gallon = 420 miles on $28

Hummer H2... 32 gallon tank x 12 mpg x $2 gallon = 384 miles on $64

BLASPHEMY!! I've got to have a 20 foot bass boat with a 200hp engine to keep up with the redneck Jonses.

In the states it's actually higher, but the milage is also higher... so it's really a wash. In europe it's encouraged by the governments so the taxes on diesel are much lower.

In UK it actually cheaper to run your car on cooking oil (diesel only), except it's against the law. Been some recent cases of people being fined for running their vehicles on used oil, about 0$40 a litre, dumb clucks used old Fish and Chip shop oil and got pulled over for smelling like a fryer on wheels.

Diesel prices in UK are now more or less the same as gas. Varies in other EU countries, but not by much anymore.

That is actually legal in the US because there are no regulations about using alternative means of power. Diesel is taxed, but if you use a not petrol based fuel then they have no say.

THere are a few shops in the US that convert existing diesels to cooking oil... mostly VW but some old Mercedes also.
