Most people in the general aviation community don’t consider this to be a good looking plane but I’m one of the exceptions. I grew up with a Piper TriPacer and later inherited it from my dad. It is very rare to see one on floats. Very cool.

Had a friend that piloted several versions of the Corsair . He had great stories to tell .

I was talking, some time back, with a Corsair WW11 pilot, he commented they were quicker than the P51, he knew as he had a few races against them from time to time. He did rattle off all the performance numbers, it was hands down faster and would pull away in a straight line.
