They were none of the above. They were actually L39s flown by the Patriots jet team, then the Sukhois were superimposed over top. The same with the F14, and some of the F18 shots. There was very little CGI used, and all the flight scenes are real, but perhaps not done in the planes depicted. Yes the scene where Tom Cruise splits the other two F18s was actually done, but using L39s.
What do you mean by "superimposed over top"? You mean digitally? If so that's still CGI.. kinda lol.
 
I have never been able make a lasting conclusion of whether the B-1 was beautiful or butt ugly.

The scene was actually flown by real jets using green screen technology then the jets were digitally replaced with the type in the movie, but all the control movements carried over as the L39s were set up with sensors to record them. It was a pretty big deal in aviation cinematography.

I don't understand why the US is having problems with a hypersonic missile. They built one 60 years ago.
