World poll for President of the United States.

No need to state your reasons why, just put you "I Voted" face on: :D

Should have added a third party option, snake.

Nader is a third party option. If you had included "None of the above", that probably would be the winner.

A vote for Nader might as well be a vote for Bush...not normally one for buying into hype, but find it hard to believe many who vote for Nader would choose Bush over Kerry.

John Forbes Kerry

JFK? It does have a familiar presidential vibe to it, doesn't it?

Go for it GW!!!.........4 more good years.

But not to get political I will say this to all Americans of voting age. On election day feel the awsome power of voting. Take part in your government. Show support for your causes. Complain all you want that things don't change, but they won't if you don't take part. Voting is one of the few things everybody is equal at when it comes down to it. Senator Kerry and President Bush both will vote and their will carry the same weight as your vote.

That does mean something. Fill the power. Vote.

I'm not wild about Kerry, but I hate the people Bush is surrounded by. I wish we could take Dick Cheney and Karl Rove, stick 'em in a time machine and send them back to 16th Century Italy to hang out with the Borgias. I'm sure they would get along fine...at least until the time came when one of them found it expedient to poison the others.

I think the worst part about this election, and about many elections, is that whoever wins will claim to have "a mandate from the American people" when he actually will win because more voters voted against his rival than voted against him. I get tired of looking at the two candidates from the major parties, deciding which is the worse, and voting against him or her by voting for the one that is the less bad. Too bad they don't have a choice "None of the above" for voters to vote for. Such votes would be counted, and the total made public, but they would not be considered in the total for purposes of someone winning a majority. That way, politicians could see in just what low esteem they are held.

I call it assuming the classic voting position...one hand on the voting lever (you see how much that dates me) and the other holding the nose.

Sometimes I wish we had a parliamentary system like they do in some European countries. It would be exciting if when a President got up to some of the shit ours has, he would get a vote of No Confidence and his government would fall.

I'm voting early on Monday. I'll probably get drunk and kick myself in the butt, but what can we do? We have to have a President, or do we?

I will go to the polls on November 2 because there are some propositions on the ballot that I favor or oppose and while I am there I will probably vote against Bush. Or, I might vote against Kerry, I am not sure yet but I will vote against somebody. I would prefer to vote against both of them but voting for a third party candidate won't help unless that person would make it very clear that a vote for him or her would actually be a vote against everybody else.

That doesn't always happen. Once in a while, I have the great pleasure of voting FOR candidates because I want to elect them.:)

Don't be so sure of that Tony.

Here in Canada, we've pretty much been ruled by a single party for the last century. One of the joking names for that party is 'The Natural Governing Party'.

Over all, I would say they've done all right. But I would never vote for them.

They've often been a step behind the rest of the world though. Since their one goal is power, they're always careful not to piss anybody off, with money that is.

Government is a tool. It is neither good or bad. It can only do what it's operators tell it to do. If our governments are poor, it's because the voters are making poor choices.

I hadn't thought of that. I suppose it depends on the culture and temperament of the populace--I'd been thinking more Italy or Israel, where things are a bit jumpier.

The election won't be decided by the voters, it will be decided by whoever has the best lawyers, like most things.

I really should stop slagging lawyers off, I'm going to sue the council over my accident...

I have to say, in all honesty, that I believe the election will be decided by the voters. There will be a lot of chicanery and double-dealing and vote stealing but it will tend to even out. The number of votes the Reps. steal in Florida will be compensated for by the number of votes the Dems steal in Ill., etc. It's a shame that it should be that way but it is, and there isn't much we can do about it.

I don't think it's a matter of having the best lawyers except to the point that a lot of the vote fraud will be done by lawyers. The real question is who will do the best job of paying off the judges. I started to say "bribing" but I changed it to "paying off" because the payoffs don't always involve money.

I usually vote Libertarian. Not this time, I don't like the canidate. I'm voting for Kerry. The economy and the constitution can't take 4 more years of dubbya.

I used to be a card-carrying Libertarian. I have no party affliation now.
