President Obama was in Atlanta for a fundraiser today...

I live outside of Atlanta these days in GA.

It did not bother me that he was in first Chicago, then Atlanta on the same day. It did not bother me he was in Atlanta and attended 3 fundraising events on behalf of his bid for re-election. It did not bother me all traffic was put on hold, including Atlanta's public transportation. Nor did it bother me a ridiculous amount of law enforcement was there as well.

What really bothers me is this: I have not heard one singular person in r/l mention why he was actually here. The only thing I heard was that our President was tying up traffic and wasting our valuable time. Not one singular person seemed to know WHY Obama was in Atlanta.

Several times today, I pointed out with only one response and no elaboration. The singular response I gave was, "Obama is here on a fundraising event in hopes of re-election".

Everyone within hearing distance looked confused. As if wtf does that have to do with causing traffic delays?

And, at times like this, I seriously question the sanity of Americans. Am I the only one who truly understands the gravity of this next Presidential election? And that the security of the current US President is far more important than a few minutes of traffic jam inconvenience?

He was attending a private fundraiser in Johns Creek at Tyler Perry's mega-mansion for $38,000 a plate.

I find that somewhat amusing because I lived for years near there in the 1980s when it was essentially cow pastures and pine forest.

Edited to add: *laughing* The fund raiser was held at the infamous "Pink Elephant" house, which is probably the biggest personal home in Atlanta. Listed for sale at $40 million, sold for $13 million.
