being a guy i know basically nothing about the earlier stages, but how soon can girls/women know if they're pregnant (i.e. morning sickness or whatever happens) w/out an actual pregnancy test?

With some, the sickness starts nearly right away. For me, I thought it was stress until I did the pregnancy test.

The best thing is to wait for her next cycle. If she is late, do a test.

Don't try to guess as the stress can make the period late as well.

wow serious topic, cant believe it, oh yea one more comment GRRRRR :p got my reasons

It's hard to tell if you don't use a pregnancy test. If her period has a pretty normal cycle but this time it's unusually late, or if there is only slight spotting when she should be having her period, go and buy a home pregnancy test. Don't freak out though if it's just 2 or 3 days late.. the stress from worrying about it might be the cause of that.

I'm 7 months pregnant right now. It took me almost 3 months to figure out that I was pregnant. My cycle wasn't regular at all at the time so that was no help, and i didn't get morning sickness till about 2 months in. Part of morning sickness is this nasty taste in the back of your throat w/ a lot of excess saliva/mucus. I had that for some time. I just got over a really bad cold that wouldnt go away, then I was told I had a sinus infection. Then I started throwing up often, just before I found out. Of course, i took a home pregnancy test (actually two cause the line on the first one was really faint) when that started. You're breasts also get extremely tender, like just before your period, but it doesnt go away. BUT there's no way to know for sure with out a test. Most women have a feeling though.

sorry, that was me, i keep getting logged out.

Also, another, what should've been a dead give away for me, is that I was extremely emotional. I'm not an emotional person. When my husband proposed (i was about a month pregnant and didnt know) I balled my eyes out. That is not common for me at all. I didn't even cry at the wedding, he was balling though. Anyways, the first couple of months is a lot like PMS, but then again, it could just be PMS If you're that worried, take a test. I've learned from the past that even if you're late and you're worried about being pregnant, and you end up not, shortly after taking the test your period will start.

I knew I was right away, head in toliet puking my guts up was my first clue and I was only about 2 weeks along.........yuk! It's different for everyone, I've heard of women not figuring it out for as much as 6 months........go figure!
