What is your prefered writing topic. Please expand if you choose other.

My chosen one is romance, but first time is also another preference of mine.

In my case "other", mostly because I feel insufficient confidence to do any other - yet.

Depends on the day, the mood, the idea, the characters . . .

I don't set out to write a specific genre. The story happens, falling into the correct category for that piece.

Most writers on this site write in a number of categories. Your poll doesn't allow fo it. Or multiple choices. As Miss Lynn said, it depends on the day and mood. I guess I have most of my stories in loving wife and Romance. That lives another 75 stories or so in the other categories.

How can most of us vote. Our stories come out in whatever catagory our characters lead us too.

I write all kinds of things. I'm new to the site, but I've written in a whole different bunch of "categories" in terms of erotica. It all depends on the mood.

I like to run one or three characters through a variety of experiences... with an emphasis on the characters, much more than the genres.

Overall, my preferred cats are BDSM lesbian or gay. Het is fine, too.

I have written at least one story in most of the Lit cats, but Sci-Fi/Fantasy and Lesbian Sex stories predominate. I've contributed to several Chain Stories as well.

As Lynn said, it depends on my mood and frame of mind. ;)

I write characters, so what happens to them depends on who they are.

The characters I imagine manage to have varied experiences.

Just finished a story in which the main character reflects back on her past experiences - and it involves all the catagories you listed. :D

I like to denigrate small-minded conservatives and religious extremists - the category doesn't matter. I also like to write about flawed characters who strive to overcome adversity - but don't.

I can count my readership on one hand.

Group sex and Romance are my preferred categories, but if my story would better fit somewhere else, that's where it goes. But I don't say, "I'm going to write a group sex story" and start looking for a plot and characters. Rather quite the opposite, I dream up a story, characters and plot, write the damned thing. Then decide where it fits and so on...

I know some folks that write stylized or fictionalized accounts of their personal experiences. I can't do that. I'm already too close to my stories. Hell, I can't even read one of my stories without going into write or edit mode. Some are dredged up from my fantasies, some from being in a situation ans saying 'what if?', some from just dreaming up weird shit. But they are what they are, And I won't force them into a category other than their own.

Sometimes a story can fit into a couple different groups, like loving wives and group sex. I tend to place them in the most extreme (defined by society, not me!) category possible. In this way, readers looking for a fairly tame 'loving wives' story won't stumble into a story about a loving wife that helped her husband fulfill a group sex fantasy. Or a group sex story about siblings having sex with daddy, which I would put that into taboo/incest. Others may disagree, but then, they are free to do as they wish, as are you.
