preferred hot beverage?

EJ's poll got me wondering about the proportion of coffee/tea/other drinkers here. what's your preference?

Either/or. But they both have to be decaf (I can't have caffeine -- medical reasons). Although, I have to say that tea is good either hot or cold and I usually like coffee not hot, but lukewarm. I'm weird that way.

in any case... i drink coffee and green tea all day. coffee black, tea with chemical sweetener (one packet -- the blue stuff please). i guess since i drink both, my response results in a wash... no sway either way.

I'm a tea drinker. English Breakfast or Earl Grey with soy milk and sweetner. Occasionally, I'll branch out to something more exciting, but basic black is my comfort drink. Oh, and I try to keep a little fresh mint in the crisper for added zing.

I was at a local coffee place a couple days ago, and the barista was amazed that I put milk in my tea. What kind of barista is that???

I've recently had to reintroduce coffee into my life, but only in (soy) latte form and only because I've had to stay up late nights working. I can't drink it straight anymore...it seriously screws with my system.

i'm just a curious person by nature. i also tend to find that polls tend to produce some interesting conversation.

me personally, while i like the smell of coffee, i hate the flavor so i'm a tea drinker. the mrs & i have an iced tea brewer. very, very handy in warm weather months. like dollface, i like using fresh mint in it: it adds a nice dimension.

I prefer coffee, but there are times when I'm in the mood for something else. Tea, hot chocolate, and hot mulled cider are all quite yummy.

well what I drink most often is tea... But what I like best is hot chocolate... and also mulled wine... but I don't drink them as often because I suppose that wouldn't be too healthy...

i live in an area where we take coffee very seriously ... and to the extreme. We have coffee syrups which we mix with milk (just like how a cup of chocolate milk is prepared). We have coffee ice cream & drink coffee frappes & milkshakes too. We have coffee flavored candies & fudge and cakes as well.

If we travel too far (as little as 60 miles in any direction) and enter a restaurant and order a 'coffee milk' ... they look at us oddly & bring us a cup of coffee with a glass of milk on the side.

I drink tea occasionally, but I subsist on coffee. I have five appliances devoted to producing the perfect cup of coffee depending on my taste at that moment. On the tea end, I think I have a box of two year old Lipton tea bags up in a cupboard somewhere.

You know, I have a very strong aversion to jasmine tea. To me, it tastes like I'm drinking a bottle of perfume. As much as I am a lover of tea, i've never tried white tea. That will be a new project for me

Jasmine black tea does the same thing to me. The white tea version has a very heady aroma but a very smooth, non-bitter flavor.
