Lot's of coffee, rolling down windows, and loud music help me when I'm in dire driving straits.

oh gracie! My prayers go out to you and your family, be safe hun. *hugs*

So sorry to hear :( Sending good thoughts in your direction!

The trip was uneventful. Everyone was helpful in keeping me awake. I did a LOT of singing and rounds of 20 questions. And I did not kill either of my sisters, as tempting as it was.

My dad is not likely to make it through the week. I think I mentioned that he's had cancer three times? Well that cancer mastisyzed (sp?) and is now in his lungs. He, to be specific, has three spots of cancer in his lungs. Then he got pneumonia, and it's been very resistant to treatment. His cancer was originally in his kidney, so he only has one kidney and the remaining kidney has shut down. And his heart is struggling to maintain a 'life sustaining rhythm'. In other words, he's fucked.

If they can get rid of the pneumonia, they can start him on chemo. This won't make the cancer go away, but will increase his life expectancy. He already approved that when he got sick.

Ok, so they've had to stop doing dialysis, because whenever they try his blood pressure drops. A lot. Because of this the toxins are backing up. They're going to try and keep him alive until Friday so we can all be there when he dies. I'll be heading south, again, tomorrow.

Once again, please pray for a safe trip. K and the kids will be following me Friday evening. Pray for a safe trip for them, too, please.

Safe trips for both you and K gracie :rose:

The hardest thing to realise is when it is time to stop treatment, and let someone pass away with dignity when their time comes. I hope that your grandad goes peacefully, and that you are there for him when he does *hugs* :rose:

My dad died this morning. I won't be heading south until Saturday, early morning, because the memorial is this monday.

Thank you, everyone, for your prayers. Please pray for a safe trip for me and the kids. My mom took my oldest with her this evening. Please pray for a safe trip for them, too.

The kids are handling it well. I'm not sure if the two youngest really get it. My older girl cried a little and has has been kinda solemn this evening. I've kept her with me during all of this, so that the whole transition wouldn't be such a surprise. I think that helped.
