Sometimes I'm debating on more than one thread and can get held up in one of them, other times I'm outside Lit answering e-mails, PMs etc which I get a fair number of when good debates are in progress, and even other, other times I'm making a cup of coffee

I'll be more careful in future.

I'm not selective inasmuch I don't want to answer, I'm selective if I have nothing to contribute. Quite often my replies are a thumbs up or a thumbs down.

Not enough of a challenge. I have said it before, but I will say it again; any idiot can put up one or two sentences of inflammatory assertions, not back it up with any data, reasoning, argument or at least interesting commentary. When PPMan does this it is just so obvious what the holes in his assertions are that I fail to see the need to point them out. Or, he points out the obvious.

So yeah, I guess he is just too boring to bother with.

Good luck - if you think this will shut him up you are mistaken. He obviously likes to hear himself talk, and it doesn't seem to matter that much to him that nobody is listening.

PPMan, I don't think you are a unintelligent - just lazy. If you want to engage in debate you are going to have to try harder - inflammatory assertions aren't enough. I could post those myself and make counter arguments - but I would jsut be talking to myself, and that is what I feel like when I glance at your threads; like there is nobody there to talk to.

I try to think of all the counter arguments someone can come up with against me, and I try to incorporate those into my argument, either as qualifiers or as counter assertions.

Debate, properly done is a lot of work that consists of thinking through a position, then writing it out well, along with evidence and well thought out reasoning to back up your assertions. Debating with you is like carrying on 90% percent of a conversation - frustrating and an exercise in futility because you just don't respond with the effort other people are engaging you with. After a while that gets really boring.
