POTUS mis speaking.

You mentioned how powerful and dangerous you think Muslims are. In 1938, it was the Jews who were labeled powerful and dangerous.

They were too few to be powerful or dangerous. But one human being in five is a Muslim.

Bullshit, more liberal apologies for the excesses of Islam. Muhammad and his successors in their time terrorized Christian communities and lands that existed centuries before he was born, before Islam was born. The historical truth is that most of today's Islamic world in the Middle East was Christian before Muhammad. From Muhammad to Tamerlane's massacre at Kvabtakhevi 1386, to Sultan Jalal al-Din in 1226 beheading 100,000 Georgians in Tbilisi for failing to renounce Christ and accept Islam, the Jihad continues to this day.

I don't see you answering post #11.

No it doesn't and it never will. How did "strategic patience" work out for Bill Clinton vis a vis North Korea and it's nuclear weapons program? The answer is the same way Obama's "strategic patience" is going to end up with Iran being able to develop weapons and the construction of the Islamic caliphate.

You completely lie your ass off about your iq test then wanna post "truths" and opinions?

:rolleyes::rolleyes:

How easily the name "Christ" slips off his tongue. Have you ever heard him use the name "Muhammad?" Did he talk about a sect of Christianity abusing the principles of Christ, like he always likes to remind us how Isis is a sect of radicals abusing the principles of Islam? Did he single out the crusades of Muhammad and his successors? No he didn't, he attacked Christianity . . .

No, he did not attack Christianity. He merely acknowledged some ugly episodes in its history -- while remaining a professed Christian himself. What he said amounts to, "Nobody's perfect." And he's clearly not using that as an excuse to ignore the whole thing, he just asked Congress for an AUMF. He is merely emphasizing that the GWOT is not purely and simply a good vs. evil fight; and it is not, not purely and simply, just look at how it played out in Iraq.

1. He did attack Christianity.

"Unless we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ," Obama said Wednesday. "And in our home country, slavery, and Jim Crow, all too often was justified in the name of Christ."
Obama made the comments while giving a major speech on religion at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C. Citing Islamic, Jewish, and Christian scripture, Obama touted his own faith.

"This prayer tradition has brought us together, giving us the opportunity to come together in humility before the Almighty and to be reminded of what it is that we share as children of God," he said. "And certainly for me this is always a chance to reflect on my own faith journey. No matter the challenge He has been there for all of us. He certainly strengthened me through the power of his spirit."

Obama went on to condemn violent jihadists who are "betraying" Islam. He specifically called out the Islamic State group that has "carried out unspeakable acts of barbarism" in the Middle East and the militants who recently massacred the employees of the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.

"This is not unique to one group or one religion," Obama cautioned. "There is a tendency in us, a sinful tendency, that can pervert and distort our faith. And in today's world when hate groups have their own Twitter accounts and bigotry can fester in hidden places in cyberspace, it can be even harder to combat such intolerance. But God compels us to try."

That is no attack on Christianity. It is an expression of Christian humility and self-examination, looking to the beam in one's own eye, all that sort of thing.

2. Why didn't he make reference to the centuries of atrocities against Christians by Islamic crusades that preceded the nine Christian crusades?

Why should he? He was not trying to justify the Crusades, and I hope that no one would in this day and age, including you.

3. When has he mentioned "Muhammad ?"

I'm sure he has at one time or another. There was no reason to mention Muhammad in this particular speech.

4. He's going to ask for an AUMF that forbids ground troops, indicating he is not serious about "degrading and destroying" Isis/Isil.

You might be a veteran but you were never a general. I don't think you were even an officer. Your judgment of the military situation here is not better than that of Obama's generals and advisers. And we have had all kinds of reasons to regret committing ground troops in the MENA in the past.

5. Obama by his inaction in Syria and Iraq, his acquiescence to the Islamonazi regime in Iran, is helping to build the Islamic Caliphate.

Have you not noticed that ISIS is hated by practically everybody in the region who has not already rushed off to join it? And that the King of Jordan is furious one of his men was burned alive and is now promising to rain Hell on them and has already started? ISIS is never going to get any bigger than it is now. The only question is how long it's going to last. There will not be an Islamic Caliphate because not nearly enough Muslims want one. (And, if there were, it would not include Iran and probably would be at war with Iran, owing to the Sunni-Shi'a divide.)

It's 2015 and there's still a "Prayer Breakfast"? Why? There should be a defined and definite line between church and state.

This country is NOT a Christian nation. We're a "free and open to worship or not worship what you want" nation. If we were a "Christian Nation," there would be no mosques, no temples, no synagogues.

Truth hurts...

I dunno, same reason the HoR has a chaplain. Anyway, it's not quite exactly a government function.

The National Prayer Breakfast is a yearly event held in Washington, D.C., on the first Thursday of February each year. The founder of this event was Abraham Vereide.[1] The event—which is actually a series of meetings, luncheons, and dinners—has taken place since 1953 and has been held at least since the 1980s at the Washington Hilton on Connecticut Avenue NW.

The breakfast, held in the Hilton's International Ballroom, is typically attended by some 3,500 guests, including international invitees from over 100 countries. The National Prayer Breakfast is hosted by members of the United States Congress and is organized on their behalf by The Fellowship Foundation, a Christ-centered organization. Initially called the Presidential Prayer Breakfast, the name was changed in 1970 to the National Prayer Breakfast.

I'm all for a moment of quiet reflection, but no, no need for a prayer before the House business.

And for you trolls, the Constitution was NOT inspired by God or Jesus. It was by the Iroquois Confederacy, those fucking "savages" you good "Christians" tried to eradicate.

No he didn't.
You bring great shame upon yourself, your family name, and the USMC with your lies.

.

All the "Ground troops" in the world and you and your fellow Marines lost in Vietnam.

No ground troops in Kosovo and we achieved our military objectives there.

Draw your own conclusion.

Muhammad the prophet? Who needs to mention him? The guy is dead and gone. He didn't even make pretend that he was coming back, the way Jesus did.

The crusades were 1000 years a go and were in response to islamic insurgents in the world. Obama's exact statement was"Lest we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ," he added. "In our home country, slavery and Jim Crow all too often was justified in the name of Christ." May be true. but Jesus never said kill the infedels. The koran does.

People have been committing terrible acts in the name of "god" all through history and that goes for any god, be it Jesus, Mohammed etc...

Funny how all these gods and prophets talk of peace and yet all their people do is kill.

World would be a better place without any form of religion.

I would honestly be curiuos to find out how many people have actually killed for their religion when all is said and done. I suspect the number is quite a bit lower than anybody suspects.

And this from someone who thinks religion is highly dangerous.

And any war ostensibly fought over religious matters is probably really fought for more material ends, religion serving as a pretext. Not in all cases, ISIS certainly is a pack of True Believers fighting for Allah, but even the Crusades were motivated at least in part by desire for land and loot and glory.

I don't know enough about the ideology of ISIS (and i don't think anybody really does) to make that statement. Regardless of how we felt about them Al Qaeda clearly had an interest in something that resembled a stable government.

And the Crusades were mostly over control over the Silk Road. Sure the peons were sold that this was about religion, just like today the idiots over there think we give two shits about their religion and the idiots over here think they are after our freedom.

But it's ALWAYS money at the end of the day.

Which doesn't mean religion doesn't factor into it just that it's not the primary cause and we might as well hunt that down.

One of the first things ISIS did was knock over a bank for Allah.

See, you take two seconds and think about that statment and realize how retarded it is. Knocked over a bank for God? Really? Stop and think about that statement. Did Tim Tebow run touchdowns for God or is that just something lots of people say for various stupid culture reasons?

I was being wry. I agree that they, like everyone else that ever went to war, are doing so because they think they will personally gain from it.
