I saw potentially because there is an off chance that some of you around here may've heard of them.

Anyway, for those that haven't, you should check out Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. It's made up of a Banjo, a Sax, a Bass, and a "synth axe drumitar."

Now, you may read that line-up and think to yourself, "Self, that sounds like stunningly boring music." I did, at least. But TRUST ME ON THIS... These are four of the single best musicians I have EVER seen. I was able to go to one of their concerts, and the bass player, Victor Wooten (how cool is THAT name?), came out at one point during the set and did a solo for no less than 15 minutes. You'd think a 15-minute bass solo wouldn't be all that exciting, but I was blown away.

Bela Fleck, the guy playing the banjo (and another cool name) is the best banjo player you'll ever find. And he's also the most anti-rock star guy you'll ever see. He looks like he could be your DAD. He played his own solo set at the end, for another good 20 minutes or so. It was just simply amazing music. Anyway...

If you download music, here's a few songs for you to check out:

The Sinister Minister
Flight of the Cosmic Hippo
Sojurn of Arjuna
Improv/Amazing Grace
Shubee's Doobie
The Message
Big Country
Oh Darling

Just a few to start off with. ;) If you'd like some more recommendations, or anything else, feel free to shoot me a PM and let me know. :D

Hard to trust a person that has to say "trust me".

Always been impressed with their musicianship, but it's never grabbed me.

That's understandable.. I'm really kinda surprised that it grabbed me, but... there's just something about it.
