The Forum Guidelines tells us:

3. Do not post copyrighted images or articles in their entirety. Fair use laws allow some posting of copyrighted material, such as excerpts from articles and screen captures from movies, under certain circumstances. Please do a Google search under "Fair Use" if you want to understand this issue better.

If a thread is missing it's because of this; I'm really sorry-just a few pictures in a thread will probably be deleted but if a thread is flooded with copyrighted images I'm going to have to remove it.

Thanks for understanding, all!

How???

How do you attach a pic in a posting if you have already attached in another post?

this is quite frustrating as the message I receive instructs me to refer to the original post for the pic but i have no idea how to transfer or copy it to another post. Please help.:(

Go to where you originally posted the pic, then highlight the url address and just past it as a link wherever it's going.

Help

I've followed the vB instructions for posting pics, but it doesn't work. I've a site to host my pics and I've tried posting pics from other sites. Nothing seems to work, please help.

description in submition of work

I KNOW IT MAY SEEM STUPID BUT HOW DO YOU SEND A DESCRIPTION IN A SUBMITION DO YOU DO THIS IN NOTES OR WHAT "JAKK"

A description, of the story? Well on the submit page it has Title, and under that is a space for typing a brief description of your story.

Anyway, if you post the source of a picture along with it you’re not violating any copyright laws, right?

How do I resize my pics in my files so that I can post them?

get a graphics editing program like paint shop pro... its cheap and effective for general purpose use.
you can use regular paint or image... but they dont come out nearly as great.
just go to pain open up your pic and use the strech/skew pictures to make the adjustment. (with those 2 the picture file size sometimes come out as larger than what the original had... even when you reduce the overall size of the image.)

most image editing programs

let you use the crop tool to cut down your image size

but there's more

usually in the topline menu of any photo ed package you'll see

IMAGE

the drop down menu should give you options to FLIP, ROTATE, RESIZE and (change) RESOLUTION

resoluton can often be selected in inches, centimeters and pixels

so by selecting pixels you can write in 150x150 (or is the pic is not square 150xwhatever)

so that takes care of your AV

similarly if youre trying to get under the size barrier required her (what is it--something betwen 50K and 100K and you have--say--a 7x5 pic you can cut it down to 6x or 5x until the file size is sufficiently small

I use HOTSHOTS by Pictureworks--a simple but amazing program - however most people here prolly use Photoshop which is more complex

also--if your image is above 72.0 in terms of resolution you can cut it down to 72 - resolution for the Net can be way below resolution for publication quality

www.irfanview.com

It's free, fast, easy, can handle almost any image format found on the internet, and the default JPeG compression setting will put you within Lit's file-size limits for most pictures when you set the largest dimension to 600 pixels.
