"Boiled shrimp, BBQ shrimp, fried shrimp, sauteed shrimp, shrimp kabobs, shrimp etoufee, shrimp salad, shrimp cocktail, shrimp sandwich, broiled shrimp...................................

who can forget...

"Momma always said life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get"

I really liked this movie so much.

There is one line I remember so well from the movie and it goes something like this....(I hope this is correct)

"I'm not a smart man, but I know what love is."

Whenever I see something floating around in the breeze, I always think of the feather that journeyed all through this movie.

“She showed me howta swing-a.....

I showed her howta dANgle-!”

PS That was it, Enchanted. Verbatim, it goes:

“I may not be a smaaat man, Jenn-eyy. But I knoww what luuv iszz”

XXplorher,

I can still remember how I cried when he said that. How he loved her - I'll never forget that.

Gump is a MAN. HE - is a man. (Made me take a real solid look at myself).

"But you WERE theear, Jenny-a. You were with me all along"

I was happiest when they said.....

The End

(I am the stick in the mud on this one, didnt like the movie.)

 How could you NOT like the movie??

lmao

What a freak ;)

“Can’t site heeeeer-e”

“Luitenaint Daaaaaan, I brought YOU suum iiiice creaaaaam. Luitenaint Daaaaan - iiiiice creaaaaaaaaam”

“She tasted like cig-ar-ettess”

"Bubba wuz gunna be a shhrimpin boaat caPtaiin. But he die-ed right there by thaat riva in vietnaam......."

Forget it – I could go forever……
Greatest movie in the history of the world. Moved me beyond words.

Lastly:
“And from that day forward… I was RUNinngg-a!!

I could go on and on, but, here's a few,

"My name's Forrest Gump. People call me Forrest Gump."

"I was shot in the buttocks. People called it a million dollor wound. But...I havn't seen any of that money, yet."

And, since I had a Dr. Pepper last night, I thought of this,

JFK-"Congradulations. How do you feel?"
Gump-"I gotta pee."
JFK-"I believe he said he has to go pee."

"Little Rock's a fine town."

I haven't seen this one in a long time.......most of the well known quotes turn my stomach, even after all this time. I liked the movie though....
I guess Gump and Co. was a bomb? It was the follow-up that was voted most likely to be made into a sequel.......

I wish Tom Hanks would play a bad guy. Maybe it's just me , but this guy's acting talent seems a bit thin....a bit weak in the intensity coloumn.

Funboy's first five highly quotable flicks off of the top of my head:
The Big Lebowski (or most of the coen's flicks really...)
Pulp Fiction
Snatch
Grosse Point Blank
Swingers
Dazed and Confused

Although my favorite is all the ways to prepare shrimp

The other was when Forrest groaned just like the principal after the principal had sex with Forrest's mother.

"Stupid is what stupid does." - Forrest Gump

His performance in Philadelphia was hardly weak. I don't know if he won an Oscar for Gump, but I thought he was amazing. Who else could have played the character so convincingly?

Who else could have been Gump? Who knows...
Gary Busey? :)

The cat is appealing...no doubt. All these people can't be wrong...I should probably watch Philidelphia again, it's been too long.

I don't know what it is that makes him seem cheap to me.
His characters in splash, the money pit, turner and hooch, and big all seem alot alike. Maybe the guy just makes it look easy..

As a baseline, some of my favs: Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Gary Oldman, John Malkovich, Ewan McGregor.

I think there are two kinds of actors, ones that become the character, and ones we like to see on screen. Phillip Seymour Hoffman, without a doubt becomes the characters he plays....Hanks and people like DeNiro, Sean Connery, and Will Smith have a charm the plays well onscreen. But are they truly great actors? I'm not so sure...though Will Smith may ascend to new heights in Ali. In Michael Mann I trust....

Garey Busey as Gump?

Granted, Hanks has made some bona fide bombs.

Can DeNiro act?

Jeeeez

Different strokes.

Forrest Gump: Hello. I'm Forrest, Forrest Gump.

Recruit Officer: Nobody gives a hunky shit who you are, pus ball. You're not even a low-life, scum-sucking maggot. Get your ass on the bus, you're in the army now!
