NSW

post pardum depression is quite common.
it is also something that a doctor should be consulted about.

Ravenloft sounds to me like he is just an old softie at heart and doesnt like to see you cry.
i do the same when the mrs is crying Ravenloft. it just shows we are compassionate and caring men.

I don't know whats happened, and I'm not asking for you to tell me, but I do have this to say.

It is better to cry than to hold it in. Crying will actually make you feel better, its allowing yourself to heal. Crying with friends is theraputic (im sorry, i cant spell that word!).

*hugs for all of you* and im sending sunshine your way.

Here is a rose for you:

It's common. You aren't crazy or weird.

It WILL go away. If it makes you uncomfortable....call your Obstetrician.

Perhaps a new mother's group would help?

Good luck! :)

Postpartum depression

You've just been through a hormonal hurrican season and you're not sure why you're crying your eyes out?

Sugarplum, you've got so many hormones raging through your body right now that they could singlehandedly stop a German Panzer Division. It's not only perfectly normal, it's expected.

Some never get it. Some have it easy, I was depressed for about two weeks. Some get psychotic. Most fall somewhere in between. No one can tell how long yours will last.

Some things to help it get better:

Your ob gave you some exercises you can do to help your body. DO THEM.

Eat PROPERLY. This seems impossible, but it's not. Eat something every three to five hours. Not much, but a good mix of all the things your body needs. Not three full meals, but five littler ones. Hell, even an energy bar. This gives your body a chance to heal itself.

Go outside. Yeah, I know, North, Winter, New baby. When you've got a babysitter present, go outside at least once a day and go for a walk. You won't believe how much it helps. Go with the baby when it warms up.

What can I say, I saw tears, and my own just kinda sprouted... Heh...

Damn that woman and her sweet, sleepin babe... E's such a sweetie...

Effigy is always playin Chef, I can't turn them off...

Cry, let it all out......I used to cry to, just all the hormones falling back into place :)

*Ah, I knew you were a big softie Ravenloft.... Real men have tears too :D*
