Post a picture

Ah, that's a completely different question.

1. you can hot link it, if it resides on a server.

2. you can attach it to the post. Under the text box where you type your post there is an Attach Files section. Click on the Manage Attachments button and follow the instructions. You can then hot link the attachment to display the picture in the post

Like this....

attachment.php

You hot link the picture using the tags. To get the URL from the attachment, click on the attachment link, simple as that.

Also, pay attention to the size limits, both dimensional and file-size. Most modern digital cameras and phones take pictures that are too large for attachment without modifications.

Most image editing software can resize images with varying degrees of accuracy.

However, an image management program like Irfanview will allow you to bulk resize a complete photo session with a choice of "resampling" methods for better clarity.

Hmmm still can't get it to pop up

Once you attach the image, you need to hotlink it with the IMG tags if you want it to display:

attachment.php

look for the
insertimage.gif
icon after you you "copy image location" with a right-click.

(quote this post to see the syntax.)

Ok, I get that but where do I find the hotlink url when I add the attachment? Do I have to post it first then edit to get the url (which is what I just did)? I work on the computer and I'm ashamed that I can't do this. lol

If you are uploading an image from your hard drive, aka an attachment, it will remain as an image link that the viewer must click on to view. This is to save on bandwith, which is something that can kill the speed of a website in general, not to mention the particular page you are trying to view.

If you are trying to link an image from another site, aka hot linking, then you simply click the icon in the header bar of the message posting "reply" page that looks like a mountain with a sun, or the 5th icon from the right. Once you click this icon, a message window pops up asking for a URL, you simply paste the image url into the box and hit enter. The image should view automatically

When you attach an image, the link shows up on the manage attachments page as soon as the upload is complete, You can copy the URL there with a right-click or open it in a new tab and copy it from the address bar.

Thank you for being so patient and helpful lol
