Stella_Omega said:Cat, how about mounting a BIG old camcorder doesn't even have to work- you can probably get one from Salvation Army for ten bucks on the side facing that trailor? Add a blinking red light to it, make it very conspicuous. And a sign "WE SUPPORT OUR LOCAL POLICE" right under it.
Can you file a complaint with your Park office about these people? Would your other neighbors back you up?
Could they be evicted opnce they'd moved in?
Really, it's Mrs Cat that I am concerned for. I think she deserves some serenity in her home, after all you guys have been through!
Stella,
I am not sure what can be done or even if anything needs to be done. As of this evening we haven't had to deal with them again, although we have seen them and the results of their latest visit. (A pile of debris in front of their trailer including but not limited to Fast Food Wrappers, Plywood, Cardboard and sheets of Plastic.)
Of one thing I am sure, they have not had access to either our place, our Patio or our Shed. (Which has in it our Washer and Dryer.) All three were locked, a habit from the last couple of places we've lived, and show no signs of forced entry. (Yes I do have a padlock on the shed.)
As of their moving in. They do not yet have the formal acceptance of the Park, and without that they can not legally move in. (Hell legally they are not supposed to be entering the trailer right now.) Until they are accepted they can not pay the full amount of money owed on the trailer, just a deposite to hold it. Until they can pay the full amount they are not the legal owners of the trailer and can be charged not just with Trespass but with Breaking and Entering.
Can something be done about them after they have been accepted into the park and she has moved in? That depends on what she does and how well it is documented. If she breaks the rules too often then she can be asked to leave the community. Documentation is the key to this. (Some of their infractions have already been documented.)
As for how Mrs. Cat is dealing with this. Right now she views it as I do, more of a source of humor than a source of consternation or problems. This of course can rapidly change. I like you wish this to have a nice quiet ending. My wife and I would like a couple of months at least in which we can just sit back and relax for a change.
Naturally we do have options in how this potential problem is dealt with. I am already looking at several different small and relatively inexpensive security cameras that can be set up outside of our place. (One of these is a relatively small low light capable camera with a wireless linkage to a VCR.) We always have the Police to fall back on if things start getting out of hand. (ie. parties when she is moved in and celebrating her newfound freedom.) I am also thinking about having my wife creat a small wooden sign, (She has a neat hand with a Router.) proclaiming our support of the Castle Doctrine. (A relatively new law here in Florida, and one which was debated at length here on the board.)
As I said though all we hope for is for it to be nice and quiet here. If she does move in and is a quiet, polite neighbor, (something I doubt she is capable of,) then I will have absolutely no problems with her living there.

to you and Mrs. Cat for being such class acts.
