Positive Vibrations

Hrm. Very timely. Going to be filed under "things to remember about yourself".

And that's it exactly. Postive vibes are fine, but you should look at the larger picture, too. And moderators and high-volume posters who reinforce the "inner circle" image do everyone a disservice.

Sin.

Ah, did you read the opening post to the thread Sin? I am a mod here (and the thread starter) and the intention was to post about those you perhaps did not count as your closest friends, or had clashed with at times, but I also don't have a problem with people posting also about those people they do know better and like as it is the whole package which makes this forum a unique community compared to many in cyberspace, and contributes to positive feelings. I think most people who had just stumbled on the forum in the previous day or so would hardly be looking and hoping to see their name on this therad simply because they know no-one knows them well enough yet to say anything real....but it might just show them what they can expect in terms of making friends and finding a place to chat and discuss as the mood takes them.

For those of us who have been around awhile, it is also interesting to note that even when it seems a post is about a friend, it has not in some cases always been that type relationship between those two people but has become so through endeavouring to understand the other and recognising there is room for many views and ways, as opposed to just using the ignore function and/or retaining a single minded picture of how things should be done. There are many you perhaps think of as being part of the inner circle (lol, which I am not quite sure who is part of it though as there seems to be a few groups of friends here) who were not once so favourably received by some of their present friends/supporters, but over time have changed that perception....I think I can safely say both mods here have had that experience from both ends. So it is not all as it seems and takes some quality time spent here to appreciate that the obvious is not necessarily as simple as it appears.

I Did See The Orignal Post

And I read all of them, Catalina. The inclusion of the Mods reference was really directed towards Marquis, and not you. When people pasted/quoted what I said, in the orignal comment, the quote of his that I included in my original post was not carried forward for some reason.

The rather smug "And even here we know who we are." comment about who is real and who is not, is rather patronizing, coming from someone who is partially in charge of the goings-on here.

There have been other similar instances contributed by others, as well; that tend to put out the unwelcome mat to those who don't have the same full-dive-in approach they do, and who aren't the questioning new folks who simply come here to find some answers (which this group is generally pretty good at offering up, evenhanded and honestly).

I've watched the goings-on here for several years, myself, contributing something very occasionally. So I've seen how things work and what the dynamics are. There are a lot of others who feel the same way, I think, too.

I think they mostly stay on the sidelines, for the reasons I do.

It Takes All Types

There are alot of people I still would like to add in here, but I have one I want to post before having to go off to bed.

Singularity - Although I don't think the "positive vibes" thread was the best place to voice her concerns on this subject, I do respect her for stating them in the first place. Whenever I see someone make a post they know ahead of time will be unpopular, yet they post it in a level-headed and calm manner, I must give them props for that. I still only agree with about 50% of her complaint, but I really like her attitude during these exchanges. She stands firm, yet classy. :)

OK, but often as we have all found out, sometimes what is said appears to be said in a way which was not necesarily intended as perceived simply because it is difficult to gauge through the screen, especially with someone you do not know personally. Feel free to join in more often. Not all agree, but I think it is often more difficult to make the step to join in, especially for those new, but unless you do you cannot expect to have much influence over how the forum climate develops, what is discussed and how, basically what happens as you place yourself in a powerless position where you are also invisible so are not going to be able to generate any change or interaction here where it counts. Also, standing on the outside of any situation looking in provides a different vision to one experienced if you are part of that picture. You do not usually strike me as someone who is backward in coming forward or who feels threatened by anyone else, so perhaps it is through joining in you can increase the feel you would like here for yourself/others and those less familiar. :rose:

OOOhhh...this is fun.

Killi is insane like me, and weird and fun, and indefinitely hot (hot x infinity).

Gracie seems like quite possibly the sweetest person on Lit, and is always nice.

Etoile is hot as well, and broadens my understanding of almost any topic she posts in.

sinn0cent1 always expresses her opinions in an eloquent manner, and I wish I could express myself as well as she could.

hrm...

catalina_francisco have a very hot daughter :D

The end for now.

Additions to the aforementioned.

Gracie is the person that I see closest to a 'mother figure' (for me) at least, on Lit. She is mature, open-minded and compassionate.

catalina_francisco and sinn0cent1 both show relationships that I someday aspire to have an ounce of the sincerity and respect that they have for their PYLs.

tealspyhnx and dragon..well their pic thread makes me sweat *swoons* and they both sound like a fun couple to play with.

snowy_ciara always has good, well-written posts, and it's awesome that there are more people my age, especially those that are eloquent and thoughtful.

aeroil, is, as mentioned before, a super-fun guy who makes me wish I was a Domme, just so I could have somebody like him :D

Marquis- is gorgeous, and his wit is a deadly weapon, that although sarcastic at times, makes me love reading his posts. You never know what to expect out of his posts.

canadiancutie and Xelebes make me almost wet myself with their thread, that I somehow infilitrated. They make me want to be a Canadian even more!

Betticus, despite having a close proximity to one of my PYL's nicknames for me, is a nice guy that always seems to have good information. Also *cough* very cute.

BlueSugar always makes me smile wherever she post to, and her pics are orgasm-inducing (I love the knee highs one-points to AV)

Netzach always seems to have something to bring to the table, and always has good points in a discussion.

although I do not know serijules well, from her posts, she seems like a very compassionate person who understands the dynamics of people very well.

jasonlf reminds me of the guys from my hometown, which is a good thing. Cuddly and fun on the outside, wonderfully devious mind on the inside :-D

Sir_Winston54- I admire you for almost everything you post. If I had a BDSM "dad" I would want him to be just like you.

AA- Although twisted, he always comes up with something to make me either laugh till I cry or wince in pain.

Luna_Wolf72- Her pictures are gorgeous. Her eyes are heart-breaking, and the poutiness-Rawr! She's gorge, and always has something v. intelligent to say.

ShyGuy- Whenever I manage to catch a post in one of the threads I post in, always informative, well-written. Plus you seem to have rockin' taste in music, and you're Danish. Every Dane I have met, I have liked. Albeit it's only been 2, but still :D

That is all I can think of for now. Sure I will find more to post about :D

Why the sneakiness? It's not like I'm going to stop you, LOL

On a side note... why the HELL did we have to vioate this thread with non-positive stuff? /me grumbles

Since you are so adamant about mentioning me by name, I suppose I will respond personally. I hope you don't see my right to defend myself as unwelcoming.

The quote you pulled out is taken ENTIRELY out of context. I have a couple thousand posts under my belt. Go searching and you'll doubtlessly find lots of great quotes to prove whatever point you want, or to just make me look like an asshole.

Now, if you're making the claim that I was being unwelcoming to bg23, I might have to disagree with you. Given the fact that she made an active effort to silence my freedom of speech and draw public outcry against me, I think I was overall fairly welcoming in that thread. If I seemed slightly sardonic in my comments to her, I think it was rather fitting when speaking to someone I have no respect for. Still, you did not post my last comment in that thread, where I told her I was glad she was asking questions, and asked her to come around more often.

Sin.

What's stopping you from posting 100 posts a day until you get the attention of other newbies, and probably a few established posters and you form your own bigger clique. Then we will be the little league clique and you guys can be the popular crowd! Do you think those of us you are complaining about would care that you did this? We are not so insecure.

Aside from all that, I don't pretend to be the stereotypical picture perfect mod, but I have never intentionally made a newbie feel unwelcome. I don't even flame Sir Quam! In fact, I do answer every PM I am sent by newbies looking to put their feelers out for this forum, and I get more than you might think.

If there are so many others that feel the way you do, where are they? Why don't you guys start your own positive vibes thread and ask that we not post in it? Or better yet, why don't you get involved in the forum, ask questions and start provocative discussion topics?

Marquis.

/me grumbles again.

Have read the thread all the way through have have found the twists and turns of it interesting.

Thanks Gracie and seri for saying good things about me.

I think a great deal of both you and of many others on the board.

Marquis sums up Dolf so well I can't add to it. Although I think the 50% mad is a little of but in what direction is my secret lol.

There are so many people here I admire.

I really like those who can disagree without a falling out or negativity spreading like wild fire.

I really love to debate and discuss with rancour.

So serijules and Leolover are top of that list :D

Pures posts always make me think, often because I don't understand them the first three times I read them. Once I fiugure out the context my mind spins in 360 degrees looking at things from new angles.

I love knowing there are so many subs on here who are not afraid to speak out, ask questions and give directions. These include sunfox, KC, gracie, snowy, Aeroil, Xelebes & catalina.

I miss witchas & Triniques posts :(

I have enormous respect for every Domme here, without exception, but I do have a fondness for Luna, apart from pervable AV's she has been a caring and supportive person to me; helping me see and understand many aspects of BDSM that confused me.
Etoile has achieved the same for me from a submissive view.

One of my favourite posters is ownedsubgirl. I love to read her posts. She gives an angle I never would have discovered or considered, like Pure she makes me think and re-evaluate my views and opinions.

Many of you were so supportive when my ex and I split, I was not aware that some of you even knew I existed.
You know who you are. Thank you.

A final word to AA, Rosco, DVS, Writerdom, Shyguy, M_Wisdom, Sir_W & Fungiug ~ I hope you all know why I think so highly of you.

Marquis ~ I don't always agree with you, but your cute looks make up for that everytime :)
I just wish I wasn't old enough to be your mother  lol

Enough slushy writing.

My main complaint is due to the time difference there is never any cookies or chocolate left by the time I get here. As much as I love gracie asking her to save some for me is like asking Sir_W not to notice spelling and grammer errors!

edit for:spelling *sigh*
