you can quoll for this one.

in another thread, there was some discussion of what constitutes a "regular" of the forum. several have mentioned having a distinctive style of reputation.

so how would you characterize the way you post here? by here, i mean specifically HT or HT cafe: obviously, different forums have different standards.

p.s.: as always, my answers later, yadda yadda yadda...

no poll options on this one: i didn't know how exactly to cover the possible range of responses in 10 poll options.

i have a few different posting styles... it all depends on which of the voices in my head i opt to listen to.

generally, if it's a legit question it'll get a legit answer. i'll hijack a thread that lends itself to being hijacked. i'll quip when a quip is appropriate. i rarely disagree with someone and won't argue unless it's a very significant mistake that's been made.... or misinformation given. that's one thing i really abhor. i know when i can't answer a question prudently and i like it when others observe the same courtesy.

there HAVE been times when i've posted things to get under people's skin. i've never meant any harm from it and those people know (i hope) that it's nothing i wouldn't say to them in a one on one conversation... though i could see how bystandars could think it's a rude comment.

My posting style is a little varied as well. Some days I feel like being a smart-ass and other days what works is taking life seriously. I tend to shy away from threads where I don't have anything new or insightful to say. My experience in relationships is limited, for example, so I generally refrain from giving advice in relationship threads. You wont' find me in many of the how-do-I-do-X kinds of threads either, for similar reasons. Most of my sex life I have lived between my ears so I leave the advice giving to those who have earned the right.

Oh, and I do enjoy tossing a bad pun around every once in a while. Just for fun.

My posting style is very intermittent. While I consider HT my 'home', I read more than I post. My posts are more likely playful off an 'oldster' (no reference to chronological age....more someone that's been around a while that I know).

Used to give more advice...contribute more...but frankly I found there were others who said it much better than I could...who I could rely on to post. So I rarely post in a 'helpful' manner unless I think I've got something particular to contribute.

Now you see this is a perfect example of a post that's almost impossible for me not to reply to.

"tossing a bad pun around every once in a while" Yank! You're our resident punster!!! :rose:

*hanging head...returning to the punnery now*

Um, slightly bitchy, a little fluffy, and with a tendency to not stay on topic.

A certain someone from this board once told me that I should decide whether I wanted to be nurturing or bitchy.

I am kinda new to the HT threads...but I tend to be light more than serious but I have been known to post serious thoughts from time to time...I am more comfortable in the playground threads to be honest

I noticed this difference too, DLL. I loved the Playground for joking around and just having fun without being very serious. But when I discovered HT I found a place where my true thoughts were interesting to others. I dropped the joking persona (well, some of the time anyway) in favor of mostly being myself here.

Hmm ....

I'd say a weird brew of attempting to answer thoughtfully blended with as much cheap double-entendre as I can get away with. Once in a while, standing by holding the gasoline can ... :cattail:

I think my posting style has become a lot less serious now than when I first started posting, it actually bothered me for quite awhile that I wasn't responding to as many threads as I used to. However I soon realised that there are many others here that share similar views as me and many of the responses are what I would have said anyway so no great loss as far as information goes.

I get a kick out of being able to use some of the "humourous?" thoughts and witticisms that flash into my mind, hell some people even get them.
I still would like to post more serious stuff than I do now, but I'll take what comes.

One annoying habit I have is I will get half way through typing out a response and just lose my train of thought and end up cutting it short, then comes the dilemma whether to hit submit or

You were a PGer?

I guess my posts tend to lean towards being a smart ass, but occasionally I do have a serious thought.

I don't have a lot of experience relationship-wise, so I'm always happy to just sit back and learn.

i've always considered my posting to be helpful and playful (not sure about the order there), w/ the occasional side of snark and although that isn't my specialty, it's something i enjoy. :>

I now go to meetings every week. They help a lot and the coffee is good. ;)

Well, I'm glad to see that you're slowly overcoming your addiction to posting words that start with the letter Q and state roll calls.

Priceless! :D
Glad you don't ALWAYS listen to other people

I have to defend myself a little bit....I never did the hard stuff like the letter threads. I was a social PGer and stuck to the humorous threads where people wrote in complete sentences....but then it started to affect my work....my children had to do their homework on toilet paper because I would forget to buy loose leaf paper...I'm sure you understand.

Did you hand out roses and kisses to everything female?

And, the most important question - did you use nanas after every sentence?
