There seems to be a lot of smart (as well as smart-ass) folks here, ones who've been to school or are in school, or maybe remember that there once was a place called "school"....

So, just out of curiousity, what schooling have you had?

Post if you want to and tell us what a smartie-pants your degree says you are.

...and, no, I don't work for the census bureau.

In June I'll (hopefully) get my MA(Hons) in Middle East Studies - Modern History. :)

Halo :rose:

I graduated college but a freind told me i'm an undergrad which I don't understand.... i don't care I'm still an architectural technologest. :p

I'm in the second year of a BA Mathematics and Computer Science at Oxford, right now I'm struggling to get to grips with Burnside's orbit formula and symmetry groups of Platonic solids.

I'm in my first year of a five year program to earn my certificate to teach and corrupt the minds of america ^_^

As of right now I don't have any degree whatsoever, I'm still an undergrad but look me up in a few thousand years, I'll be Dr. Collie, professor of anthropology.

:D

I have a Master's degree in Nursing and have completed some post grad work.

While I do value education, I don't necessarily believe having degree(s) implies great intelligence. My experience with higher education suggests that attaining degrees says more about our tenacity and our willingness to jump through hoops like trained circus animals.

Some of the most intelligent people I know have never attended college. :) Some of the least intelligent people I know have advanced degrees.

Anthropology, eh? Well, good luck, Ms. Collie. (What sort of anthropology? Cultural, I hope.... 'Twas one of my minors in Ph.D. work....)

I have a Bachelor of Arts, Community Studies with a major in Anthro/Soc. I earned this degree at a small local college so that'll tell you how good it is ;) Think of it as a glorified B.A. with community involvement and placements.

I also have a tech diploma and am currently working towards a networking and systems diploma.

Other

One more semester and I will have an A.S. in Landscape/Turfgrass Management, and I have obtained the first two years of a B.S. in Biology but most of it is applicable to any B.S. or even B.A.

I was going to switch and go to art school, but something occured to me. I am not willing to have art school suck the individual creativity out of me, so I am not sure if I am going to do that now. Actually I am pretty sure I am not. I know, I know, I said I had made up my mind, but I just don't think that Mr. Monet, Mr. Manet, Mr. Degas, Mr. Pissaro, Mr. Renior, Ms. Morisot, Mr. Bazille, Mr. Sisley, or Ms. Cassatt would be too happy with me if I went and lost my originality to some strict institutional methodicisms. I don't want to dissapoint them. Besides, there isn't anything I can't learn from my own experinace, and from books.

I will go on to get a B.S. in Biology then, just as a fall back, but I'll proably work only in Horticulture and Art for the remainder of my life.

Master's degree - in a field completely different then the course of my current career.

I think you're right about Messrs. Monet, et al. But I don't think all art schools would suck the life out of you and replace it with institutional methodism, do you? Some would, granted. But a good teacher should strive to help you cultivate your own vision, while helping you learn the discipline and the traditions of your art.

Not to question your decision, you understand, but since I'm sort of in arts education, I felt like I needed to tell you we're not all like that! (Truth to tell, I hate those vampiric fuckers!)

Smart woman

I'll come down to get you high
Or maybe sing you a lullaby

Good Points HM, and that is why I will go down to the school and interview instructors and such before I decide. It is the same school that I would be going to for my B.S. so I can always change majors! :D

Mellon Collie, You sure you don't want to study the development of the role of the human foot being place onto the ass of another human with an abrupt and forceful motion?

Sounds intriguing to me. I think I might research that one for future reference.

i dropped out of college after about 1 and a half years.. and got a job that i love.. i didn't think i was going to get to go back but after i've worked with the same division for a year they will start paying for my classes :)

Oooh, as interesting and intriguing as that sounds I feel as though you would be able to perform a much more thorough examination of said topic and report any and all findings much more eloquently than I.

I volunteer Cheffie to practice on, I'm sure he won't mind.

:D

I assume...

That folks with degrees are more drawn to vote and post in this thread... If I wasn't interested in advanced degrees I'd probably be getting suckered in by the 'wet pussy' thread.

B.A. English & Biology
M.A. Literatures in English
In June (hopefully!), I should finish my C.Phil in Cultural Studies, leaving me one dissertation away from my Ph.D.

School is like the mafia; every time I try to leave, it keeps sucking me back in.

About halfway to a Masters in Social Work.
Undergrad was a BA in English Comp.
I plan to be called 'Dr.' at some point...

I have a BS in Psychology, a Child Development Associate, and as of May 12, 2002 a Masters in Early Childhood Education.

Roll it all together and it simply means i never stop thinking.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Drama and Master of Fine Arts in Drama, with a concentration in Acting.

This and a buck will get me a cup of coffee.

Ah well..... ;)
