it's a simple question: who's your favorite movie villain? if you can't pick just one, list the contenders.

ed

p.s.: as always, my answers later, yadda yadda yadda...

easily jack nicholson's joker in the original batman movie... by "easily" i mean the first thing that popped into my mind. i'm sure i'll have others when i'm more awake and less poker.

Hannibal Lecter came to mind first. But Darth Vader is right there too.

You love Hannibal?
in the sense of loving a movie villain for his villain-ness... yes. or is that villainocity?

i actually did a show with john douglas (pioneer of profiling, cia guy and former head of the behavioral science unit at quantico) a few years ago. he consulted extensively on "silence of the lambs" and i found him to be a fascinating guy. his book "mindhunter" is fantastic. it's a must read.

Mindhunter is one of my absolute favorite reads.

those first few pages where he's in seattle (i think) and having a nervous breakdown from being inside the heads of serial killers is absolutely riveting.

John Douglas' Obsession is in my book shelves. I've read Mindhunter. When I returned to college in '98, I wrote a paper about stalking and the changes that need to made in our laws. As a "victim" of a stalker, Douglas' works helped me gain control over the situation.

Brian Denehy in 'Rambo' and the guy who played sheriff in 'Tank' with James Garner.

Yes.... intruiging!
So is the whole serial killer phenomenon, of course. What makes them tick. Of course that is my weird side...

i found him to be VERY giving and compassionate in person. he spent hours talking privately with people about their past/present tragedies after his program concluded. i don't know how he does it.

i agree. people who are so quick to want to impose the death penalty (justifiably so) don't realize how helpful it is to have a genuine maniac available to study... it can be a wonderful resource.

Yes, cool.... plus Mini Me! Hilarious!
(or are you taling about another Dr. Evil?)

Oh yes! Dr. Evil is a hoot and mini me...omg, too much (well, only 1/8th of Dr. Evil's size, but once again proves that size doesn't matter) ;)
