And they call me "a racist" for gravitating towards the GB conservatives, instead of the GB "libs."
As if there couldn't possibly be any other motivation for one's decision to dissociate oneself from such a classy crowd…

See, that's just not entertaining. I yawned halfway through.

It's times like this that I really miss Vetteman. :(

Q-#### could be a vettebirther alt. Who else has the dumbassery to jump into any conversation blindly and regurgitate some inaccurate bullshit like vette?

As a Brit, let me say thank you for the invitation to play on this thread. But I won't. Because I am puzzled as to the mention of "Whites" in the thread title.

What the hell is that about?

The networks here in the US covering the election have segmented the population into the "winnable" and "un-winnable" electorate for Trump. The case being made is that Trump can only win the election if he is able to capture the votes of those most likely to vote that are self identified as white and college educated.

They note in many of the reports that among white, not college educated voters Trump has a significant lead. So as the election has unfolded I have thrown "whites" in a bunch of my thread titles as a tongue in cheek reaction to one of the major networks more prolific talking points.

Here is an ardent Trump supporter: Vick Sciolaro

That is definitely worth a watch if just to see Brooke Baldwin's reactions.

IMO - Vicki is a low information voter. WTF is she doing on TV?

I doubt if anyone who votes is going to be any more honest than Hillary Clinton when they tell you their level of education unless, of course, they are a Democrat Union voter...

;) ;)

... like the ferals in the hood, they're sort of proud at not being "college boys."

Let's see.......

Hillary Clintion 266 statements
Statements............Percentage
TRUE 62....................... 23.3%
MOSTLY TRUE 73........................27.4%
HALF TRUE 58..........................21.8%
MOSTLY FALSE 40..........................15%
FALSE 27..........................10.2%
PANTS ON FIRE 6............................2.2%

OUTRIGHT LYING: 73.........................27.4%

Donald Trump 285 statements

FALSE 100...........................35%
PANTS ON FIRE 49...........................17.2%

OUTRIGHT LYING: 200.........................70%

I know, I know, Politifacts is just one more liberal bias site out to destroy the conservative agenda...........or maybe she's not as much of a liar as you want her to be.

And while we're at it: Why is it you can get all butt hurt about Hillary calling Trump voters deplorable and it's totally acceptable for you to do the same for the voters on the other side? That's Ok. No need to try to come up with a defense. The "but they did it too!" grade school one will suffice.

Thanks for gathering this important information, BoyNextDoor. So many Americans seem to love submitting to a probing pole during a Presidential election. We're numbur won!

In the US it's now cool and progressive to hate white people, especially males, for being born white.

It's the knuckle dragging idiots who are proud of the USA and think it's unique or special in any way. Some of these idiots actually think the USA is great....and THAT is just disgusting. Great again? It was never great.....

We were great between 1941- 1945 when we kicked the crap out of Axis powers, Things started going downhill after that.

If one time, a decade ago, I left out the 'e' in mathematics, the only thing it could possibly infer is that I was not an English major...

Hell, most of you think that getting a Masters in math is about numbers.

That was the military peak of the U.S.

Economically, the United States became a superpower in manufacturing between 1945 and 1973 (roughly the length of the Baby Boomer birth cohort). Europe was in shambles, the Asian countries undeveloped, somebody had to step up. Not to mention the buildup of the Military-Industrial complex triggered by the rise of the Cold War.

The OPEC oil embargo of 1973 served notice that the Era of Cheap Oil was gone.

This poll is worthless for many reasons.

The first being is that it's at Lit. Liberals/Progressives are going to be WAY over sampled so the poll is in no way representative of a national cross-section. Further you have no way of confirming the educational level, no way at all.

You also make the mistake of assuming that educational level is equivalent to intelligence and awareness. I will readily concede that educational level IS an indication, but it is NOT a 100% valid metric.

Then comes the Hillary campaign leaks that state they are interested in an "unaware and compliant" populace. Looking at the voting bloc the democrats have actively courted, that statement makes perfect sense.

i actually agree with ishmael, but i find it amusing that he felt the need to point out the fact that a poll on a forum for a website devoted to stroke stories shouldn't necessarily be taken all that seriously.

But Pat Robertson still supports Trump...

Christianity Today denounces Trump

"Indeed, there is hardly any public person in America today who has more exemplified the “earthly nature” (“flesh” in the King James and the literal Greek) that Paul urges the Colossians to shed: “sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires, and greed, which is idolatry” (3:5). This is an incredibly apt summary of Trump’s life to date."

"... Trump is an idolater in many other ways. He has given no evidence of humility or dependence on others, let alone on God his Maker and Judge. He wantonly celebrates strongmen and takes every opportunity to humiliate and demean the vulnerable. He shows no curiosity or capacity to learn. He is, in short, the very embodiment of what the Bible calls a fool."

At this point, the GOP are praying that they can get enough voters to the polls to keep control of the Senate and the House.

Isn't a major part of the problem that neither side is courting the politically aware, well-educated vote - presumably because it is such a minority?

It reminds me of the (probably apocryphal, sadly) Adlai Stevenson line when a woman told him he had the vote of every thinking person in the country:

'That isn't enough, madam - we need a majority!'

A good anecdote. And quite reflective of the liberal state of mind, ie. only they are "thinking" people. Which goes to illustrate the converse state of mind, those that don't agree with them are 'thoughtless.' The conservative elite are not immune to the same thought processes. Both associate with an insular crowd. Both live in an echo chamber.

If you want to define America's greatness in economics post war, true. I was addressing BB's comment that America was never great. It took a Herculean effort to retool the economy over to a war footing before we even entered WW2. Upon entering we basically supplied the entire free world with materials & equipment, not to mention manpower. If we were not great as a nation in that 1941-45 period, then we never were.
