we in the Authors hangout are working on a special edition of impressive's "Comming Together" for a Katrina relief effort https://forum.literotica.com/showthread.php?p=14005823#post14005823
We need a limited number of themed poems to include. and though I will be doing my best to read through and pm some poets It would help the effort so much if you would like to submit something for consideration , or point me in the direction of a poem that fits.
hoping you'll join us

Was just going to post over here myself, Nymphy. Thanks. :)

Especially interested in poems written for/about Katrina if you think they're appropriate for the fundraising effort.

I donated it's raining for this cause. It's wet, not necessarily related to the tragedy. We are erotic writers/poets after all

I've been thinking of you and hope your family back home is safe and well.

My family is all safe and accounted for, settled in relatives homes up north. I also have a buddy that was trapped there in the Super Dome, but made it out. I booked him a flight for this evening to come up to the PNW as he lost everything, no ID. Nothing.

Much appreciated. :rose:

The stories are a compilation of those from last fall's Rainy Day Story Challenge on the AH (and all feature sex outdoors in the rain). We'd like to have a poem in between each of the (15) stories. Four poems have been donated thus far, including neo's and Liar's Identity and one from bluerains.

Any from the Katrina thread here would be most welcomed.

Peace, y'all.

Are you only looking for Erotica, Impy? No one has mentioned whether or not this was any good, but you're welcome to it. I'm leaving early next week for Gulfport and Red Cross Disaster Relief training, and then on to New Orleans for cleanup. I am so boggled by this whole thing that the only thing I know to do is jump in and do whatever I can.

The tide is ebbing now
pulling back Her power
after 300 years of giving
now She's taking back
reminding us
that She is owner here
that all the death, and loss,
are but a small tribute
for the gift
of a city on a crescent
emblem of Luna,
Goddess of the moon
and Her power.
A jewel of a city
who's diversity
and strength
who's dignity
and culture
will rebuild, and grow
and become once again
The Grande Dame of The South.

I haven't thought of a title- any suggestions?

No. Anything relevant. Thanks!! Lemme know when a title is nailed down. :rose:

ETA: Will need a bio for you, too. <60 words, 3rd person, beginning with "BooMerengue."

Example:

Liar is an almost-30 viking rooted at the shore of the Baltic Sea. A fetish with the English language’s musicality turned him to writing, and plain randiness turned him to writing erotica. Militant pacifist, freeloading poet, and cat person.

Why should I give to Katrina, to the the richest country in the world, where there are world wide disasters every day, in much more need? Just a question.

1) Because you're a humanitarian
2) Because America always gives to others
3) Because you're a really nice chick under all that sandpaper
and
4) Just because

lol

There are many in the Maritimes, Canada, offering shelter and homes to survivors of Katrina...my house is one on the growing list... whether it be a child waiting for reuinion of family or caregivers, an elderly couple, a family, a single person or two, there is no discretion but to offer a safe haven until more time has passed, giving them a chance to find some peace, whatever peace to be found and time for repair and reconstruction of semblance of home and a place to go.
More dangers and perils are being uncovered, added extremnities hampering efforts and creating more dangers.

No suggestions. Maybe "The Grande Dame of The South."
Just you have my respect and admiration, I wish you luck.

Um...because one good deed doesn't exclude another? It's not an either-or thing.

Thank you, 1201. Imp or someone named it Grande Dame- I think thats ok. I sure don't think it the greatest poem in the world, so actually the names kinda fancy! LOL

Here's the deal...

I'm leaving Saturday for Gulfport. The home I'm going to has electricity and hopefully will have clean water available. It's the home of my nephew and his wonderful wife, and their 5 terriffic boys, ages 16 to 18 mos., and they are so truly blessed. The house is 4 blocks from the beach- it got a few shingles blown off and some tree limbs down. We gave them a chainsaw and its all fixed now. Their neighbors were not so lucky; houses in various stages of smashed on either side of them.

Their frame shop is 1 block from the beach and suffered minor water damage. Its being fixed as I write. Luckily they had just signed a contract w/ Beau Rivage Casinos Inc. so they will soon be slammed with work.

But many many were not so lucky. My neice has a MS. Daycare License so were opening up a storefront Drop In type of daycare to acommodate all those seeking relief, jobs, etc.

Then when the all clear is sounded I'm going to work for the City Of New Orleans cleaning up and rebuilding. I've already written to the Historic N.O. Preservation Society offering my meager skills, and I'm waiting to hear from them, but I'm not averse to a face mask and a broom, or a hammer and saw, or a shovel, so who knows what I'll be doing?!?

Thanks for all your support all y'all! (I know Northerners hate hearing that! lol) I'll keep you updated as I go along.
