Poetry about men

Well, dunno about good, but it's recent, sort of an homage to the gorgeous structure that is man.

Man on Canvas

the art of him
leaves open my mouth
abandoning self-consciousness
i gaze unabashed

the clear line of his thoughtful jaw
meets the strength of his neck
joining proudly
that V
oh that glorious V
cascading in multi-texture
yielding to narrow hips

i gather my wits
and sketch
load my brush with sepia
shape the oils
a little too much
with my fingers

body of a lover
heart of a lion
vulnerable and feeling
completely
beautifully
man

Marah's Poem

Wow, what a terrific poem you wrote, combining the images of art and artist in praise of man. I especially loved the following:

i gather my wits
and sketch
load my brush with sepia
shape the oils
a little too much
with my fingers

Great image that centers the poem, bringing creation and creating together in the artist's hand.

Welcome to the poetry board; it's great to have you here.

Okay, here's one that praises men, uh...well, kind of. It's more focused on certain aspects...okay, on one aspect of men.

D is for Dick.

Hmmm...don't know. Which men? In what way?

JUDO, the one marah wrote is along the lines of what I was looking for. By the way, D is for Dick put a smile on my face, thank you for that. :)

What a wonderful poem, guilty pleasure. That definitely makes you feel great reading it.

marah that's it! May I please cut and paste it on another message board? Will put the web address here so that you know where it ended up, as well as make sure your name it placed with it.

Does a poem like Eugene Kissin count too?

I have no idea, but I really liked it. Thank you for sharing it.
