Does anyone know whether, with the Site's changes to the forum software, limits on the total number of private messages have changed? In the old format, I could see the percentage number by which my total message box was full. Now, I don't see that.

As far as I can tell, the Web site has given no guidance whatsoever on possible changes in the private message system. Didn't even let us know there was a change in what it was called.

On other XenForo sites there is no limit. I have thousands in some threads and all are preserved. That may well be the case here also.

That would be an improvement. I as to the point of running up against my limit in vBulletin and having to delete some old messages to make space.

He's talking about conversations, upper right envelope next to your name. Not the number of posts in a thread. On the old system, Lit limited the number of post to 5,000 to limit the compute time on the servers.

I'm talking about conversations (also called PMs) as well. On other XenForo sites you can have an unlimited number. I have conversations on another site that have been going for years with thousands of posts and all of them are still there. Unless something is set differently here, which I haven't seen, the same is true here

Who knows how it now works here? As far as I can tell, the Web site hasn't given any explanations on how it now works. I don't do much private messaging, so I'm not going to worry about it too much.

I sent out a dozen or so private messages via the contact button on the members' profile pages (and not conversations here on the forum) in one afternoon and suddenly was blocked from any more. I've tried several times since then with no success so something seems to have locked me out. I've tried to contact Laurel and Manu with private conversations with no response. I can live without contacting people, but it is a bit of a hassle.
