You don’t see ads in the forums. However the main site is full of NSFW ads. In fact, the ads are in your face when you open a story too. So all those arguments about images on the boards being an issue and how this is a “text” site hold no water!

I do read stories here. The banner at the top of the page? I guess I’ve just never really focused on that as it’s always been for cam girls and I just scroll down. I don’t recall seeing nudity there (the girls in the images are clothed, yeah?). I thought you were describing a barrage of pop-up ads or something along those lines which I’ve never seen here.

As for the changes, I get the concern, but I think we might be jumping ahead a bit. Personally, I don’t see Lit changing that drastically… but maybe that’s just my optimism showing

On the other hand, for all of the people in the UK, I would actually be grateful if the site did ban images, because of the fuck-up that is the so-called "Online Safety Act", under which text is okay but images (and even audio recordings) are not. So it would be okay for me to tell you, graphically, in text what I'd like to do to every single MP who voted it into law, but not to publish the video recordings of me doing so.

Saying what you'd like to do to someone in graphic detail if it involves violence upon their person (which this seems to) or makes threats against them (again, which this seems to) are already illegal, just not under that act. The Farage Riots post Southport showed us that.

The online safety act does not outlaw nude or pornographic images at all. It does however place further restrictions to protect people having images of them shared against their will, and to protect young people from accessing such content. Weird things to be upset about...

Interesting factoid: the first political thread was created in 2000. The Playground was created in 2002. People come here for different reasons and that’s a major reason for the longevity of this site. Many threads and even entire forums here do not appeal to me, but that doesn’t make them wrong to even exist.

I guess Llehlla and her thread will be making a complete exit. I should announce it a few days before deleting , though, in case some loyal followers want to save their favorite images and written pieces. I ASSUME we will see no more AI on this site, either.
