Do you wear certain things when you want to feel more in (or out of) control? Do you snag all the typical fetish wear your budget allows, or do you tend to look at your local thrift shop with a discerning eye?

Please share thoughts on how clothing may or may not play a part in your kink; it might turn into an interesting discussion.

Here's the dress that sits at the very back of my closet, and has been mentally catagorizes as "the discipline dress". Like I said- not the typical outfit one might associate with punishement, but it has quaint little secrets...

It's disgustingly prissy and flouncy- there is an interesting mind-fuck aspect to being dressed up like a fraglie Victorian China doll, knowing it's all part of being broken.

It's childish in design, which (for some) could add to the humiliation aspect of things. (Add hair ribbons, lacy anklets and Mary Janes, and just try to avoid feeling like you spilled chocolate milk on your best Sunday dress... a gut wrenching mind game for people normally used to being the "good girl")

It's a bit too small, which requires tightlacing ehh... 1½" smaller than usual (at least), which is not at all pleasant (especially if one hasn't gradually laced down for a few days previous).

The bodice is quite snug, which makes clamps press a bit (a lot) tighter with even the shallowest breath; the short sleeves are pinafore style- just flounces, really- so the arms are left free for bondage.

The skirt is full (I didn't bother fitting a crinoline underneath, but it will hold one), which means it can be easily flipped out of the way (for spanking/figging/humiliation/whatever), and there is plenty of room for rope bondage to make one hobble whilst walking. It also presents a pretty picture (back to the China doll imagery) during corner time.

It plays with Victoriana, which wanders down the path of Governesses/Butlers/Stern Parents/Nannies/Schoolmasters/Schoolmistresses, and opens up all sorts of disciplinary things that don't necessarily "fit" with a modern punishment scene.

Sooo not exactly your typical "discipline" sort of garment, but helpful in creating the right atmosphere in certain situations.

The original concept isn't my own; I did buy this one because it offered intersting possibilities...

Associating a certain outfit with a certain event can be mentally stimulating- kind of an expansion on the whole "never wear a bra or panties" thing, but a step further. X heels always mean Y event will occur; lingerie of ___ sort means you will be taken without any concern for your comfort; the China doll dress means you've screwed up and will be punished; this suit means you're in control of everything for the day; that outfit means the code word of the day is "sensual". The mere sight of the clothes laid out on the bed, allows the mind fuck to begin.

I have not had a lot of RT scenes but I have had a few. I do of course like to dress for the occasion. It just so happens the occasion may change scene to scene.

One scene I would be in my business attire, black glasses and hair up. Kind of like the school matron or librarian. Another day it may be all black leather and small elegant chains. Another day I may be in soft silk with lace. Not big into footwear, i am most happy bare footed usually. Most of my stuff is something I could utilize outside of a scene. Wellllll, my leathers maybe on Halloween

I don't really dress up. It isn't that I don't appreciate props, or setting a given mood... I do enjoy it when my submissives have done so in the past, particularly in situations where it is of their own volition. Particularly if they make the clothes themselves. Since I am in a long distance relationship and we only get to see each other a few times a year I always wear something special. My Dom likes it when I wear costumes for role playing things. I have worn the typical stuff like French Maid lingerie and cheeleader uniform (he wanted me in real uniform not a Halloween sexy custume type) to short leather skirt etc. Shoes are also very important. I love this Cutie. It's very much along my way of thinking.

For the moment, I'm choosing my own clothes. I do often find myself picking things based on how I'm feeling. For example, if I am feeling a little comfortable letting the submissive me show, I'll wear something more girly to work - slightly Maggie G in Secretary.

I love the idea of dressing up for Cream and it's something we've discussed but I've never had a partner who's into that before so with Cream will be my first time.

Yesterday I couldn't find the shirt I wanted, and since we had company I put on this tiny little tank top I have for wearing under dresses (you know, the ones where the armholes are so big it shows your bra?) to go out in the living room and see if it was in the clean clothes pile.
