This clod has attacked me and other friends on another, more controversial thread to which I post. He may have followed me here and be attacking you by association, for which I apologize. I don't apologize for my views NOR any of my posts.

If this idiot (named thus because he / she / it cannot seem to grasp simple concepts) doesn't like the LIT material, why be here in the first place. I detest people like this and all their rants come to no end, because I'm not going anywhere. I also urge any of you that have been PERSONALLY attacked as such to report him to the higher-ups so that they will be banned from posting.

I know that people like to think that primal sex can be a commodity that you just engage when you feel like, but don't you think the truth is that there is always some sort of deep emotional connection. And that makes it so awful when you have sex with someone you don't really care about. To counter you must deaden your emotions, and that feels bad too.

However if it is someone you care about?

No no no we're not talking facts here, this is just subjective experience. In the media these days its a popular idea that sex is like a can of coke. If this were true, there'd be no problem with prostitution for most people. Fact is when you connect with someone like that there is some kind of emotional connection too, I don't know if I'd call it love though. It can be pretty disturbing when its not, hence rape.

Now keep it civil, honey. Rape is about sex for one person most definitely. Obviously thats why they're committing it, maybe not the only reason.

I used 'fact' figuratively in this case. Don't catch me on my every turn of language, you know what I mean. The fact for you should be based on subjective experience. Whats your experience in that regard? And if sex is just fun and meaningless to you in regards to the other person (it could be anybody) then why not get paid for it?

No-rape is about power-it's the use of sex to exert power over someone else

Oh and I have lots of experience of sex without any kind of emotional commitment-it's fun...

Ok I agree with that and it has been well documented but it must also be about taking what you want, in this case sex, otherwise there are many ways to exert power over someone. I mean obviously the sexual urge are built very deep into the psyche of people. Many things in the unconscious that we're not even aware of. Yeah its complicated.

But my point was without debating the exact definition of rape, that if you have sex with a person you absolutely loathe, in this case, the rapist, there can be an unwanted emotional connection. Thats possible what makes the act so difficult to overcome. Am I wrong?

My sexual experience, I enjoy sex immensely. Why not get paid for it? I don't choose to. If someone else decides they want that to be part of their sexual repertoire, I say they go for it. None of my business.
