More Canadians, eh? Beauty.

Reaching for a Beer and grabbing a doughnut, out of Back Bacon. Hockey Game isn't on right now, my igloo is too cold, the RCMP tell me that being on-line might be a crime, so I decide to hitch up the sled-dogs and go to the store and get some smokes, eh? Or Timmy's for a double-double.

You're a cultural cocktail! :)

"Getting It"

A lot of my "comments" Pearl are Canadian stereotypes that Americans have of us.

I don't watch hockey, for example. Our police are not the RCMP, those are a separate force. "Timmy's" is a Canadian doughnut chain, very big and "Double-Double" means a coffee with 2 creams, 2 sugars. Our weather in Ontario is not any colder than many American cities - comparable to Buffalo NY.

And some of those were "Bob & Doug" jokes, based on the old SCTV sketches starring Dave Thomas & Rick Moranis.

Thank you for pointing that out. I now love you to pieces! ;)

Correct me if I'm wrong but isnt that like mistaking a Canadian for an American?

My apologies

I dunno why I said that, I knew you were from New Zealand. I am on another site where the leader is a "Kiwi" too.

Is that where Kiwis are from, btw, hence the nickname?

Kiwis are from New Zealand. Aussies are from Australia. Though technically both countires make Austrilasia (sp!), so you could be right, a little, not much! ;) hehe

I knew the difference

I knew the difference hun, just wanted to know where the nickname came from.

For example, many Canadians are referred to as "Canucks". It is a term from a long time ago.

Oh, sorry. I misuderstood.

I dont have an answer Im afraid. I know that we have a native bird called a Kiwi. I guess thats why? Though we have other native birds, so I don't know why were are called Kea's or Kakapo's?

Okay

You know, I also knew there was a bird called a Kiwi. My brother has a [ kind-of ] relative in NZ and I used to be fascinated by animals, so I knew that.

So why is the fruit a Kiwi? Don't like them anyway.
