I was flipping from "ET" to see a story I was curious about, to "Jeopardy".

Now I am watching a preview of the new CBS shows, but they already told you how one episode of one of their new dramas ends. Why in HELL do they do stupid things like that. Movie Previews are doing the same thing lately, or giving away major plot threads. KNOCK IT OFF!!

I don't mind knowing things like that, but most people like surprises.

Oh - "Boob" is an old expression for an Idiot or Dolt, "Tube" - well, most older TVs had more tubes than they do now. It has also been called the "Idiot Box".

I was thinking it had something to do with idiot.... I knew the tube part... had one of those TVs WAYYYYY backk when.

Unless I am mistaken, there is still a picture tube in Televisions, it is the one part they have not yet changed much over the years.

In the 70's, it was called "Boob Tube" for another reason - the proliferation of shows like "Charlie's Angels".

I'd like to make a comment on reader's comments. I don't want to sound like I'm stepping on anybody's toes, and I don't want to sound hypocritical either, so please don't take it that way. Many authors don't get the feedback they deserve. The comments, like those posted on this thread are nice, but why not post them in the feedback area of the story also? I am guilty of this, just as much as anybody else, but it gives the authors a moral boost and a sense of accomplishment.

With that said, I'm going to make it point to read and comment on more stories. Off to read the first chapter of Awakening of Alicia.....

I agree and I have read many stories and always give feedback. I feel that the feedback that I have received for my first story on a thread, through feedback or one on one have all been helpful...
