I am sincerely interested in knowing the differences.

I posted yesterday the exact same post that I was new

Playground post

I received 5 responses in the same amount of time that I received over 100 in the General Board.

I am not criticizing as I am so new, I am just curious what the differences are. The playground doesn't seem to have all the political garbage but what other things make it worth coming there instead of the GB?

Thank you in advance for any replies. I may not get to answer them until tomorrow. Again thank you so much.:rose:

If I'd been online I'd have welcomed you... ~smile~

As for the differences... guess some places can be friendlier but that too can depend on the time of the day you post and such....

If you get involved in a thread, you meet people and become friends... just jump in somewhere you think you might find something in common with the other posters...

Good luck, sugah!! Have fun and take some things with a grain of salt... saves energy!! ~smile~

Blowin kisses...

I post on both boards, although I started on the Playground...
and had I seen your post here, I'd have welcomed you as I did on the GB....:)

One of the differences i see here are longer running threads. The GB has tons of new threads everyday while at the playground it's the same threads. Personally i like that better as it gives people a chance to get to know each other. I try to jump in to the GB sometimes, but it's hard when you don't know them that well.
Besides we like sex a whole lot more here or at least talk about it more.:D

Welcum to the playground....missed your other post...I work 12 hr days and I tend to stop in, visit a couple of threads, then am gone til the next day...once the weekend cums, I have a little more time to read and post, but by then some threads are so buried I don't see them...

IMHO the biggest difference I notice in the 2 boards is that this is the playground and we like to play, have fun, joke, laugh and care about each other... it is as if some of these folks do become your friends...the threads here tend to go on for a long time...gbers refer to them as never ending...I say who the hell cares...the subjects we discuss may change daily, but tend to revolve around a "theme/idea." The general board peeps remind me of the bullies on the playground...they want to make fun of the pgers...critisize the pgers...hell, they do this to each other, seems more cynical on the gb...but I do go there sometimes...post there sometimes...and laugh at them a lot...depends on my mood. R/L has enough dramas for me so I come here to relax, have fun, have adult conversation and sometimes just to cheer myself up...so I tend to call the playground my "home."

Have fun, whereever you decide to go...visit them both...just enjoy!!!:)

I won't lie: I don't like the GB very much. There are a lot of just plain mean spirited people who make their home there, because they know it's an unmoderated forum unlike the rest of the site and they can do virtually anything they want. I'm sure there are plenty of nice people on the GB, but I much prefer to stay here in the playground. I just found this part of the site has a much lower bullshit ratio to be frank. No offense to you good posters who frequent both places, I'm sure you're well aware of some of the people of whom I speak who abuse the system we all enjoy using. Maybe things have changed in the last couple of months, but I doubt it.

Besides we like sex a whole lot more here or at least talk about it more.

'Tis true. We can't stop talking about it here, even when we try. :)

The difference is People......

It is like having sex or making love... GBers have sex...pgers make love...:D :D

Oh and WELCUMMMMMMMMM ....;) :rose:

As for a more direct answer as to why you didn't get more replies here in the playground, you may have noticed but a lot of the threads in here have a whole lot of posts. Like into the tens of thousands in some cases. I think some of us aren't always paying the closest attention to new stuff to come by. Personally I don't recall seeing your thread, so let me say it now: welcome to the boards. :)

Welcome to the Playground..:rose:

I post on both boards,,but you will find me here 99% of the time...
I dont get involved in any politics...thats not why I became a member...too each his own is what I believe.

I agree...I don't recall seeing it either and I look for new ones. But you or he can post anywhere in any thread, sometimes you get acknowledged and sometimes ignored but dont' sweat the small stuff.... ;)

There ARE attitudes that develop from posting on this forum or that forum...bottom line is that people are people and nobody is any better/worse than the other no matter what they post, how they post, or what they say. Free speech and the right to have an opinion are basic rights of Lit. Enjoy yourself, no matter where you post...I post here, on the GB, Poetry, and a few others...they are all cool and have their own dinstinct personalities...just go where you feel comfortable.

What are the differences?

For me it's really hard to say ... or should I say it's really easy to define ...

I never go to the GB, ever.

Perhaps not the most informative post ... but honest ...

I couldn't have said it better myself. :D

Welcum to Lit. enjoy your stay. I have freinds who post on both boards, some that don't come here and post there. And like Secret Scribe, some that don't go anywhere else but here. Personal prefereances, and for me anyway, how thick my skin is feeling...it does get pretty rough over there, not for fragile egos.

Have a good Friday.

I occasionally post on the GB, but for the most part I tend to stick to the playground and, more often, strictly to threads I have posted in for awhile as I come to Lit for the friendships and the comaraderie. Often I find on the GB a great deal of hatefulness and negativity. I avoid that on Lit just as I do in RL.

Hey, you've changed your avatar!

Welcome to the Playground. The atmosphere here is very different. You'll probably notice the thread are much longer, they're conversational rather than topical.

And it's because of this that many people don't leave the thread of their choice to post elsewhere.

I'm sorry your thread didn't gain much response. People on this board are generally very friendly.

Enjoy.... :rose:

Hi... Welcome and enjoy. I post here mainly, the author boards and a little on the GB. I come here to see friends and have fun, the GB can get too rough for me. If I want sarcasm and arguments I can get them in the real world. The people in the playground care for each other, it's relaxing here. I have friends here...I'm staying. :)

welcome to Lit! I have been away for a couple of days too and if I had been here to see your post I would have at least said hello!
So.... HELLO and welcome to LIT!!

In the beginning I would read, lurk amongst all the boards but over a short bit of time I realized that the folks in the playground threads had become friends and treated one another extremely nice.My kinda folks!
I never go to the GB anymore(.............of course now I have to just to see whats going on there :) ) and one of these days I'll jump into one of those long running threads I'm sure.
Welcome Sir L............

Welcome. I agree with the comments already stated. Sometimes the newer threads do get pushed toward the back. But I usually try to check out all the new threads and try to welcome everyone. I am sorry if you got your feelings hurt! We will try to do better. I do not go to the gb. I used to and check out some of the threads but they are too political and seem to have very strong opinions on subjects and anyone who does not agree, beware! When I first came to Lit it was hard to get responses also. But just jump in, make yourself at home and enjoy yourself, whereever you decide to post!

And we DO have fun here...hanging a sign on tonitits--Hi, I'm Tonitits--WalMart Greeter trainee! LOL

Thanking you for such gracious responses

First I want to thank all of you for your open and honest remarks.

Second, I am sorry I conveyed that my feelings were hurt as they really weren't. I just was not sure if there were certain prerequisites that I may not have known about.

A couple of you I actually did meet over on the GB and I really appreciated your comments, not, that I did not appreciate the others, because I really do.

I have come to Lit for the stories for a bit more than a year but it has only been a couple of weeks that I have visited the forums on and off as a guest.

I have to admit that there are many nice people over there but there are sure a lot of bitter nasty ones.

I am the type of person that enjoys people, likes to make new friends. I try my best to be totally honest, and I do my utmost to have fun and allow those I am with to have fun. I try not to make waves although I am realistic enough to know that sometimes it can't be helped.

Yes I am a flirt as is my wife who presently is not totally sure she wants to be a part because of some of the reception on the GB. Yes we are both very sexual and have fun with others, but we also realize this is in essence a fantasy board which suits us fine.

My wife works outside the home because she wants too, and I am self-employed working out of my home trying to help people.

We will be more than happy to post nude pics eventually.
Just not of us, at least too soon!! LOL Got ya!

I hope you forgive my rambling, but I did want to return the gracious way you replied to my thread and at least answer a few obvious questions.

One other thing; I am a fast learner and do not claim to be perfect, so if I over step my bounds, make a blunder or whatever, just let me know and I will correct my mistake.

Again, thank you for your replies and info.

I catch hell on the GB for being too nice or NAIVE, so I gotta say it SUCKS!!!
hi brinkee!whoa nice av sweetie:) yes it is a bit different since I have chose the playground vs the general board, alot of friendly ppl here and the general board seems too clicky for me, but that is my opinion. If I had been online the last few days too , I would have welcomed you with opened arms Sir:D

Thank you very much Dayna32:rose: I am feeling very welcomed and the same thing that Brinkeedinkee said is what I have been accused of! When is too nice something to disdain?

Thank you again

I rarely post to the Playground, but this post just stuck out. Of the two, I post more to the General Board. I like that the topics change frequently, allowing anyone and everyone equal comfort to join in. I've tried to jump into a couple of the long, long threads here, but found friendships were already well established, cliques were already cast in stone. Heck, on one thread (which I will not name), I trie to post on a regular basis and was routinely ignored. (Except for one or two male posters, that is)

So, I may come to the PG and give a look now and again, but for me it's boring seeing the same old threads keep popping up, filled with banter by people who are already well-known to each other. Heck, I have friends offline, why do I need to come here?

So, for me, if it comes between the two, I usually find more things of interest on the GB. I've had run-ins with 2 or 3 people, but I've also had a whole heck of a lot more than that welcome me. I think it comes down to not expecting everyone to agree with me just because, well, it's the nice thing to do. I respect people far more who can speak out against me and stand on their principles.

But, I'm funny like that.

Oh. And welcome to Lit - I think I missed you earlier.
