Playground Mishap

Damn, tough hit. I'm glad to hear that she'll heal with little deficit.

We brought her home from the hospital around 1 pm...everything looks very good so far and she is getting loads of attention and visitors like grandma and gramps and the neighbors.

She is a little uncomfortable but is still being brave...we have tylenol w/codeine but I have not had to give her any as she is having no pain that she is reporting...mostly it is just the fact that she can't get comfy. I'll give her a dose soon though in case she is being too brave.

She must be feeling a little like her self because she is bossing her brother around.

quoting myself to add a little more...

she is milking it now, so we know she is OK.

She is VERY angry that all her plans for her weekend are messed up. Missing two Padre games, having her Birthday Party postponed. Also having to miss Karate camp next week.

I like that she is pissed. Shows she is not in too much pain. *grin*

Bless her heart! I'm glad she's doing so much better. :D

okay now...somebody at her grandma's work bought her a FurReal Newborn Kitten...this thing is too damn cute.

I mean, an hour from now that little "mew" will be driving me up the wall, but for now it is cute...

Well, it will keep her mind off Karate club, parties and padre's games.

She's named it already, hasn't she? Your doomed.

As I recall from my own experience with a broken wrist, a plaster cast made an excellent weapon for pesky younger siblings. ;)

I wouldn't bet on that.

My granddaughter would never admit that her arm was hurting, but she would get angry and stay angry until somone force fed her a pain-killer.

At this stage, I think the anger is probably normal dissappoinment at missing out on things, but keep an eye on her for signs of redirecting pain into anger too much.

You mean she's all stubborn about showing pain? And she'll hide it so people think it's something else?

Gee...she couldn't possibly have gotten that from anyone's genes...nah, nothing like either of her parents, I swear...

Nah, it's not something that she got from her genes, it's just part of being a kid -- I think its in the rule book. :p

Seriouly, I don't know that your kid will do that, but I thought you should be aware that it's not an uncommon reaction.
