Absolutely adored this. I think it's the combination of several factors: first, that they were intelligent enough to accomplish this. Second, that they had the ruthless obsession with her to prompt them to do this; lust + fury is heady stuff. Third, that they were sadistic enough to make the most of it when it came. No half-assed NC there! Most "group of men decide to violate female" stories I've read have been plain and simple "grab her arms in a bar, force her on a table, gangbang ensues" sort of stories, which is hot for the sex but not for the foreplay. This was psychosex at an extremely hot level. Yummy.

I adore "hunt" stories, tales where a woman is sexually hunted like prey, and this story was better than most of that genre because it was an honest hunt story. The prey paid in the end for all the delicious thrills she got in being hunted, all the fun she had beforehand dropping hints and snubbing the men. Because of all their careful planning, when they finally caught her, they owned her ass. No way out, no "end of the game, let's all go home and take up our normal lives."

I also was fascinated to hear that this story was written by a woman, as it has a masculine rather than feminine feel to it. Another reason I though she was a very good writer. And it really is a woman who wrote it, not a man posing--I know this via the "friend of a friend" grapevine.

I've said this before (in another Sincerely Helene thread, come to think of it) but the "making them mad" works both ways for rape play. A woman whose man won't cross the forced sex line can sometimes frustrate him into it. One of the first men I ever met when I went off to college put his head in my lap and then confessed this long, involved story about his former girlfriend who meircelessly teased him for weeks, not putting out and rubbing his face in it, until he finally raped her. I was fascinated. I also wondered why he, a relative stranger, had decided to tell me all this (yeah I was pretty clueless once upon a time). Didn't know much about bdsm then, but once I learned I filed the story away as something I could do if a man ever got "too respectful" around me. But I think this method would only work on someone who wasn't consciously kinky.

The other thing that caught my eye was the author's attention to very random details, things that were not essential to the story as such but really didn't distract from the flow; actually, they made it personal on a level that almost had me questioning if it was in part based on a true situation. Just enough to pique and keep me interested.

And I'm 100% with you on the "prey" fascination. That's exactly right. The hunger, the power imbalance, the inevitability.

Sorry for the hijack, all! Times that we've done PR (heh), we have a couple different methods. As generally disapproved-of as this is, he loves to wait until I'm drunk and then slap me around because I'm totally incapable of defending myself. The sex is generally short and brutal. Other times, which is more staged but still satisfying on occasion, we do roleplay. I have a serious thing for (totally un-PC, sorry) white-trash talk and abuse...something about getting a whuppin that makes it much, much sexier to me than its verbal counterparts. I definitely do agree about the risk factor. There's a good reason I don't do this everyday. Play rape of the type I'm talking about is essentially a trust game, similar to the one where one person falls backwards and the other catches them, except you are letting them fall almost all the way to the ground and are catching them just inches from getting their head bashed in. I think this games works well because it can scale to the level of trust you have with your partner, but doing this without a reasonable reason to trust your partner at all breaks every letter of SSC.

Although I can certainly see the erotic appeal of it, I think setting up a stranger rape is, under most circumstances, about as safe and sane as playing Russian Roulette. How do you know your rapist won't decide to incorporate a punch in the trachea or ripping your jaw open in the heat of passion? Maybe (maybe) you have his info and can get him arrested afterwards, but how will you repair your self esteem or your sense of safety in exploration?

Of course, there are people who enjoy playing Russian Roulette, even get addicted to it. I saw a special on them on TV once. Not a lot of old people in that group.
