Plagiarizing Yourself

I’d think folks here would have figured out Lovecraft68 by now. He is an angry, hate-filled little critter who has failed in about everything in a marginal life and has latched onto something he receives praise for—writing incest (which is fine in and of itself if he didn’t attack others for what they write)—and is milking for all its worth to make him feel king of the mountain someplace—anyplace—where he regularly rabidly rants hypocritically (ranting against noncon while wallowing in incest; going after others for promoting themselves when he is the biggest self-puffer up here) and attacks those he sees as competition for king of the mountain at an erotica story site (like being king of the mountain on Literotica means anything).

He’s failed at childhood/family—he’s recently posted about that, which made him into an angry, violent semiadult and which left him in trouble with the law and a perpetual failure at anger management (which he obviously has never gained control of).

He failed at his first marriage. He failed at his business. He failed at dumping his warehouse job and becoming a full-time novelist, as he declared he was going to do in November three years ago (all of which he’s posted about), and he gets all up into the story files of others here and launches PM hate campaigns to pursue personal vendetta and to stalk. Just a sick little rabid puppy. And he does what he can to bring others down to his level and to divide and conquer. Sort of like the guy he voted for, he uses vicious attack to make other posters tolerate him for fear he’s going to go after them too.

And now, wait for him to launch again. That wait is never long. He is brimming over with hate and anger.

I will ask. I only know of one well known person who's been used as a basis for one of these, an older Italian actress. But there's a Latina vibe here, I think.

I'm joking, a lot of people drink it. In my case when your mother starts letting you drink coffee at the age of 5 or 6 you get to the point where I am. I can drink a D&D large with extra sugar at 9 and be sleeping by ten.

But we're way past the days of Sanka, they have great flavors for decaf now, my wife drinks a lot of it

We had a person who would come into work, and leave an hour later at least once a week, claiming they were sick.

I sent that gif in an e-mail to everyone else saying "actual security footage of Fred coming to work today"

I accidently included the CEO who replied "That's fucking classic!"

I checking out some new to me music from Savatage. I'd never listened to 'Handful of Rain' before. As the track 'Alone You Breathe' is playing, I begin to recognize a section and had to look to make sure which song I was hearing. Probably a minute or so of it is also in their track 'Believe' from their album 'Streets, A Rock Opera'. That entire song is also used in Night Castle by TSO which evolved from Savatage.


I'm sure they're not the only group that did such things, so I'm not going to be bothered about repeated sections of text.


I recall several TV shows of the 60s, 70s and 80s that shot a scene once and used it in quite a few later episodes. The exploding train in The Addams Family is one example.

There are only so many words in the English language and only so many ways of connecting them coherently to form a sentence and convey thought. Authors should not feel guilty if they realise they are repeating themselves when writing a new story. We all have favourite words and forms of sentence construction.
So long as we don't copy other authors word for word, (knowingly!) then, by definition, it cannot be plagiarism.
