i've had my nose and ears peirced. there was no pain. my tattoo was more irritating, but i wouldn't call that pain either.

besides, if you're a girl, losing your virginity hurts... doesn't stop us.

No piercings should "hurt".. if they do, it's been done incorrectly.

Sure there may be some minute amount of discomfort.. but i've had almost everything possible pierced. (i've removed most of them for personal reasons)

Not one of my piercings hurt when having them done.

I have my bellybutton pierced, which didn't hurt nearly as bad as I thought it would. I can't pierce my nipples or clit, the thought just makes me cringe. I mean what if something went wrong??? I can not pierce anything I would miss

I have tatts too..they can be painful at times, depending on where the tat is. I have one that made me cry, it fucking hurt! but usually its just kinda irritating in an annoying kinda way

For one of the few moments I had avs turned on recently, modest mouse's made me shudder in revulsion. I'm not qualified to say, but I think mm managed to completely outdo Outsider. Not that this is a challenge, mind you. I've shut avs off so there's no point in competing here. Really. I'm serious.

i just thought it might hurt.i had a 3rd degree sunburn on top of another one.i worked thru the pain.it wasn`t easy.aloe vera helped out a little.i keep it cold and applied it.

Well, yes it stings a bit...but like others have said, it goes away quickly. I think some are sore the next day or two (I know my nipples were) but then it's usually fine, unless you catch it on something! *cringe*

Now getting my nip rings stretched up a gauge, THAT sure as hell smarted! MUCH more than having them done in the first place. But again, it was over quickly.

But for me, all my ink/piercing experiences are a mix of spiritual/sensual feelings or intent. And it probably doesn't hurt that I *do* happen to like pain, lol. Of sorts, anyway...

I felt the needle going in and coming out, but it wasn't painful.

Eating was awkward, but what a great way to lose weight - and my current squeeze loves it too !

As for me, and i think i can speak for MS here as well, that "pain" you're so scared of is, to us, erotic. As is no secret here at Lit, MS and eroticize the entire piercing experience and delve willingly into the sensations associated with it.

Pain is a relative thing. What i perceive as pain may be something that doesn't bother you at all, and vice versa, of course.

The sensations i feel while my body parts are being pierced are almost entirely within the realm of the "powerfully erotic". They make me wet and cause me to pant, but only if the piercing is being done in a manner that furthers the fetish, i.e., if it's MS on the other end of the needle and it's a part of the sexuality that flexes and strains between us so strongly.

I've had my nipples pierced repeatedly. My labia have been over and over, and my clit hood pierced once, so far. The CBR migrated from the hood piercing and so MS will have to redo that one next month.

It's not about the "pain".
It's about the experiencing the sensation.
It's about submitting to the man holding the needle.
It's about my need for sharply focused and very immediate surrender to the situation in which these things occur.

You do all of us an injustice by trivializing the experience of being pierced into a flatly negative "don't they hurt" kind of question. Short answer: We like the sensation. That's why we continue to do it.

Everyone has a reason. For those of us who body mods are a large part of their life, we do have various reasons for them. (And not all of us do it cause we have self-image problems either) We don't get em 'cause they're cool.

Well I don't. I have my reasons. I'll probably discuss them in the How to thread later on if anyone is actually interested.
