Piercings and Airport Security...?

Since security has been tightened in the U.S., I recently had the experience of having to remove a pair of shoes I'd flown in dozens of times, and have them run through the X-ray machine. With the increased sensitivity on the metal detectors I began to wonder...?

Do you folks with piercings have problems going through security? What have they made you do to prove your nipple/belly/labia/Prince Albert ring was really jewelry?
And when you're in line in front of 200 other people, is it funny when the hand-held unit beeps going over your naughty bits?

Thanks, from one enquiring mind,

Pan

Don't make me go there!

I swear if there aren't replies the next time I look in here... I'm gonna re-title this thread "Showing your tits at the Airport..."

Then I'll attach a serious pic of a metal detector... but 4,000 Lit members will download it thinking it's a nude in public. I'll name the jpg "Alarm.jpg" and they'll all think it's somebody caught flashing...

No problems here.

I flew a few weeks ago with no problems at all except that a 3-year old companion of mine wantes to know why they were searching us for guns....cause we left all ours at home. Didn't we?

Security took a little longer, but the piercings posed no problem whatsoever.

A Reply...Just For You

I have a piercing but I've never flown so I can't help you. Interesting question though. Maybe Angel or cym would be able to answer you.

I would look for Angel and Cym as well. I think they have both flown recently, so they would know.

Tickle, tickle, Pan. I've seen this question before...
;)

From there:
I've never had any kinda problem with it. I've also never tried to go through airport security with more than five "concealed" piercings at any one time.

I was talking to the people at the tats/piercing place i frequented for my last tat and asked them the same thing. THEY'VE got some metal in their bodies, let me tell you. They said that they *always* get flagged and stopped and taken into a little room to be checked more closely. Once, on their way to a convention, they were held up so long they missed thier plane. It was on account of all those needles, you know. They HAD to be some kinda drug peddlers or something. I gotta admit, they *look* like shadowy characters, not the taxes-paying and completely sober, non-druggie business owners that they really are.

So, i think it takes a LOT of body metal to set off one of the alarms at airports. If i'm ever stopped, though, i'm all ready to lift my shirt to show them what's gumming up the works. Yeh. Right there in line. I never wear a bra and i've got this exhibitionistic thing going...

A dear friend of mine is a prison officer and he stated that they can control the sensitivity of the equipment. I will forward this link to him, perhaps he will be willing to offer his input and excellent ability to explain things so use Blond Girls can understand it.

I have never set anything off in an airport and I wear a labial ring the thickness of a toothpick. My other ring is the thickness of a lolipop stick. (This is just to give you folks perspective.) I have only done a walk though though--not the wand. My officer friend said he has found genital jewelry in "offenders" before with the wand and finds satisfaction in confiscating it. State property, ya know. (The jewelry is invariably made while in prison usually at work.)

I had planned a trip to the Middle East last winter and had planned to swith to acrylics during that time. Plans didn't pan out though. Seems I missed my chance with the situation as it now is. Sigh.

You can tickle me anytime you've got your shirt lifted Cym...

Rubbing her head... thank you, little one.

Pan

Only when my shirt is lifted?
And where?
Where do you most like to be tickled, Pan?

Thanks Blonde Girl...

For pursuing the research for us... then we'll know exactly how much metal to hang on Cym so she can flash Dipso on her way to tickle me...

And I didn't even KNOW they did acrylic! "Not your mother's labia stud!"

The acrylics are okay for special occassions or for breast or navel or a few other piercing sites. For genitals or oral decor though, avoid the acrylics. They are porous and the germies like to grow in them. When wearing them, it is not a good idea to do it for long periods of time.

With most piercings, your body reacts to the material but the material also reacts to you. For example, my pussy rings are both a bit different in color appearance than when I originally placed them in.

I am contemplating/preparing for surg and this is an issue for me. I have not discussed it with the surgeon yet, but I will as the time nears. A friend as agreed to put my rings back in, but it may be impossible in the hospital setting for him to do this. (There are NO private rooms in this hospital.) Since this is major surg, the rings will have to be out for possibly a few days--I have had them long enough that I would hope there is no problem, but....
We will see.

I read a "tip for traveling" article in the local newspaper and one of the tips was to definitely not wear an underwire bra if you don't need one.

I can't imagine wearing one for the "fun" of it!

There will be a lot of saggy breast women traveling these days, I think.

As for piercing, I only have holes in my ears. But I admit I was wondering the same thing- if all the people with piercings were having problems or not.
