Most of us have seen the "Phone Number" Thread.

What if your phone number was published here and you didn't know it?

Check your local phone company and see of some of the services they offer.

I have privacy manager, it eliminated 95% of all telemarketing calls. It has lots of other features. Here is a link for SBC most phone companies have similar plans and options. Look into them and see if it's worth your while.

I'm not trying to scare people considering the current outburst one individual is going through.

just give the link a look and see if it's worth while for you.

I don't know why, but I rarely receive any telemarketer calls. Any time one calls, I ask they remove my name from the list. Apparently they are required to do so when asked. I think that even works for random number dialers; it'll block your name from the selection process.

I average one call every six weeks now.

Some companies have "call lists" and "sell lists". The companies will sell successful numbers, The next time you tell them to remove you from one list, ask them about the other. I know California has both types of lists.

I ask to be removed from all lists and records, actually. They then launch into a spiel that it'll take 4-6 weeks to completely clear me from the records (uh huh), so I just kindly say I understand and thank you. Considering my telemarketing traffic, I must be past the four to six week waiting period.

We don't have a land line phone in our apartment just two cell phones that we use. Seems to eleminate telemarkerters.

I've thought about using my cell phone only, but I haven't gotten to that point yet.
