Is it rude / disrespectful when your SO hangs the phone up on you without notice ?

I want to hear from everyone out there who has an opinion about this.

thanks,

If he was at work, where I know he might be interrupted by customers, then it's acceptable with at least a goodbye. Otherwise god help him.

I say no if it's a cell, sometimes power or disruptions will cause automatic hangup. Otherwise, yeah work, or if they're really really sleepy. Apparently one time I was talking to my SO in the middle of hte night because she missed me, and she told me that I was responding intelligently, but she got off the phone. I don't remember ever having that call, the only reason I know I talked to her was because it was in my call history clocked in at about 2 min.

Otherwise there's something definitely wrong.

unless there was some problem that cut off the call I find it rude for anyone to just hang up without warning.

I am not referring to cell phone losing the signal. If it was that then the SO would answer the phone when I call back or at least when they get a signal call me back.

I am referring to a physically controlled hangup where the person takes hangs up the phone without saying good bye.

I am asking if that is right?

If it is not then how would you describe it.

having been on the "giving and receiving" of your query in the past, SFBC, I must say that it is rude and uncalled for. Yes, I admit I was wrong hanging up, I was acting stupid
I have a much better understanding and appreciation for the feelings of others now after thinking about it.

~kym~ guilty :(

Kym, the difference is you are intelligent by learning from your mistake where my SO has not. A person can only take so much of the disrespect before saying enough is enough.

This is why I created this thread / poll. I was just wondering if I am over-reacting or not.

thanks ,

I don't think you're over-reacting SFBC, I think you've outgrown such childish behaviour. Maybe this woman isn't on the same level as yourself?
Either way, you'll make the right choice, I have faith of that! :rose:

~kym~ putting aside those things that no longer suit me :)

Thanks for the vote of confidence and yes I already did the right thing.

No matter how much I do tell my SO how much it bothers me, nothing gets done. So, what does that tell ya? To me it means if it is important to her I respect her wishes but if it is important to me, I don't mean shit.

I guess the hangups are the tip of the iceberg.

Its funny how 11 people so far answered the poll and nobody said it was ok to hang up on your SO.

well as Kym said, I've been on the recieving end as well, and really I felt pretty bad that she did that. I've also done it before, well that's because we were fighting and as Kym said, it was stupid, and I was being rash.

disrespect? yeah it is, I dunno, I think you should really talk to your SO, maybe he/she had a habit of doing it before i don't know.
