Phone Geeks!

Just replaced the battery on the OPO. Ten minute job, eight quid for the battery. Not bad considering they're supposed to be non-replaceable.

The "5" will be out next month and it will smack the S8 Galaxy upside the dome.

I'm disappointed. USB 2.o, only a 1080p screen, not waterproof, no OIS on the camera and the camera sensor is nothing to write home about. Don't think I'll be splashing out on one. Damn shame.

But remarkably cheaper than competing flagship phones with all those things.

Here you get a 8 GB / 128 GB Snapdragon 835 pocket computer for the price of a discounted last year's 32 GB Galaxy.

People want different things from their phone. I can see how this one would appeal to some.

I played around with one today. The camera is better than it's specs. Not amazing, but pretty good. Battery life is top notch. And the display is an amoled. I don't give a toss about 1440p at this screen size. So I'm happy.

If I was on the lookout for a new phone. Which I'm not.

Biggest letdowns? I don't dig the design. The 3t looked sleeker. And the built-in speaker is just barely better than mediocre. Which is sub-par for a flagship. I use speaker phone a lot so that's a minus for me. And sure, waterproofing woulda been neat.

Dude, thank you for that, much appreciated. You pretty much assured me to get one. I love my 3T but the camera is subpar for a flagship. I'm happy with the screen resolution and I never use speakers.

So the OPO is starting to play silly buggers with apps and contacts. Something to do with no support for the last year according to XDA. Looks like I might be getting a 5.

The OnePlus 6 is a beast! Everything about this phone rocks. I was in AT&T yesterday and the sales associate couldn't believe how much smoother and responsive it is compared to his S9+. They say the camera isn't as good as the Pixel 2 or the Note 8/S9 but I haven't found the camera lacking at all. Plus, I was able to sell my 5 on swappa for $400 so I only paid $129 for this machine.

Ordered the new OnePlus 7 Pro today.
