I once ran a petition to resurrect a thread that had been deleted. Everybody said it was impossible, that it had never been done. Yet, the petition was indeed successful and the thread was restored in full. We set a goal and got the desired number of 'Yes' replies. The thread was restored within hours.

Should there be such an effort to resurrect the Mayor of the GeeBee?

So Rory is gone, huh? I thought the smug-meter was down about 97 percent when I got here. Now I know why.
As for a resurrection, I don't see a reason why. Other longtime Litsters get banned, none of them as big an asshole as Rory, and they have to come up with a new name. Many of them are quality folks.
I do have a suggestion.
He ran a Rorbags vanity thread a couple of weeks ago about how many times people called him by that name, and got absolutely zero responses for all the hard work he put into it.
Not one of the usual Rory ass-kissers showed up to chime in. That must have been ego-crushing.
So anyway, when he comes back - I'm sure he never left, what am I thinking? - one of his new names can be Rorbags.

The trick is to get them really fresh. You can't go resurrecting somebody who's been dead a month. That shit never works. You gotta get 'em just after they dropped. Personally I think it' has to do with blood and brain cells. Catch them before too much damage has been done. But the old Indians knew far more than I about playing God and perverting the natural order of things so I defer to their knowledge.
