The problem with this is that in some areas (where I am for example) the Humane society and ASPCA are either kill only shelters or they charge people to bring in animals. Doesn't give a person much choice. We don't have ones like you see on Animal Planet that happily take in strays and fix 'em up all nice.

Yeah...I understand. They do also have some networks for shipping some animals to other shelters to try to adopt atleast some of them. Both of my dogs ended up coming to my city from other states, the most recent one from Ohio.

It's not perfect but is still one hell of a lot better than organizations like PETA offer.

I've already made my opinion on PETA known- goddamn it, why do they keep doing shit. It'd be like it LT joined Fathers for the Commonwealth. As a member of the ASPCA, I really feel like we need to bomb the shit out of them or something. At the very least we could throw paint on them.

Yeah, they will often not even try and find homes for any of the animals they "save"- They take euthanasia equipment with them when they go to raids. WTF? And it sucks, because it's one of those groups that honestly think they're helping.
