Pet peeves

Some of the attacks and post in this thread are starting to remind me of GB

No. The posts on the GB are fun to read because the opponents are all quite intelligent (with a few exceptions). Here we have Sinimamiwami telling me that I need to go back to high school and I think it's clear to anyone who even casually visits this thread that he is in dire need of a retroactive abortion.

Hey, not everyone grows up to be a winner. There are a whole lot of people who simply can't function in a society. I say we introduce those people to the Taliban fighters in a room with nothing but a large knife and a video camera and see what happens.

Had to look it up, didn't ya?

What the fuck does that even mean? Being able to quote sources makes one intelligent? Did you graduate from school because you were able to write a bibliography? I assume it wasn't because you demonstrated a basic level of knowledge about writing in the English language.

I've asked you before; what language do they speak up there in Canada? I thought it was English, but maybe you're in one of the provinces that speaks primarily French. If that's the case, I'm even less impressed with you, and I didn't think that was possible.

the feeling is mutual, but its to fun to bait you on.

and no quoting facts proves that you actually took the time to look up your information rather than pull it out of your ass

So, quoting facts proves only that one knows how to use a reference like an encyclopedia or the internet (if one can call the internet a source of facts). Explain to me again what this statement means:

It's clear that you're trying to prove some kind of correlation between someone's intelligence and their ability to look up information, but then you make your most recent claim quoted earlier in this post. Tell me why the GB forum is full of less intelligent people, 'cause I say you're making a really great case for the same accusation directed at AmPics members.

Ah, Ekserb is back to his snarling self again and all is right with the world. Glad to see that vacation hasn't diminished your hateful, Simon Cowell-esque view of the world. :)

Is there supposed to be a question mark at the end of that? If not, what the fuck does "problem otis" mean?

This goes back to my other peeve about people not bothering to use correct punctuation and grammar and then not understanding why people have to read their posts three or four times to figure out what is being communicated.

That goes for you, too, Shingamwami, or whatever the fuck your name is.

You really belong on the GB with fishmeal and the other legends in their own mind. Please stay here though, you are always good for a laugh. :D :D :D

My view of the world is hardly hateful. My view of the people in it, however, is truly loathsome.

People like shinimickeymouse are an embarrassment to those of us who paid attention in school.

I didn't do a lot of homework in high school. I wasn't an advanced student in any classes (I took a couple advanced classes, but I barely passed my calculus class during my senior year of high school). I didn't go to college. I simply was able to learn how to read and write the language that makes the modern world go 'round.

Now that you know how little I did to make myself understandable in text, you might understand why I find it increasingly annoying that so many people don't seem to have any goddamn clue how to do it themselves.

It can only be one of two reasons. Either shinimalookilima is a product of a failed system and he's illiterate, or he's lazy.

Personally, I'd rather be uneducated than a shiftless slacker.

you're calling me lazy yet you never even went to post secondary?

meanwhile I'm going to one of the best post secondary schools in all of Canada.

so I believe this conversation is over

I can't bear to hear (well I bear it obviously, because I am still alive) the letter "P" said a certain way: spit out. It's like fingernails on a chalkboard. If you don't know the sound I'm talking about, think of radio DJ's--they seldom spit their P's. The radio commericals on the other hand almost always do, because they're trying to get your attention in any way possible. Assuming anyone is interested, there was an old Monkee's song, actually a silly spoken thing on one of their albums, by Peter Tork. It was full of P's that were spit out in the way that I mean: "Peter Percival had a Pet Pig Named Porky..." is how it started out.

Another pet peeve I have is recent. All the detective drama threads on the GB are making me paranoid that absolutely nobody is who they say they are or that they are several people at once and all those somebodies are talking to me. I find it hard to trust anybody on that board anymore and I do not like that feeling. Quite honestly, I think I'd be happier never knowing any of this stuff about other people and just taking whoever they are at face value, as whoever they want to present themselves as. I'd either like their persona or I wouldn't like it; like their person A but perhaps not like their person B, etc. I do that to some extent anyway. If someone has been consistently nice to me I will stubbornly continue to be their friend, even if that person is mean to others and my stubborness in the the face of that information drives the prosecutors they collect (like a dog collects fleas) absolutely nuts. My relationship is with that person and NOT with all the people bashing him or her. Why should I let their bashing or their desire that everyone hate the same people they hate influence me _even if_ I know full well that the person they have such a grudge against really does some things that are not that nice? My relationship, to repeat, is with that one person, not with the rest of that (often quite mangey) lot, and like all relationships worth anything it is complex and based upon a multitude of factors, not simply whether or not that person does things that appear to be or even actually are mean and vindicative toward others. I WILL NOT Be a sheep and conform to Group Baaaaa... no matter how many people expect me to! Does that make me a terrible Literotican? In most GB'ers' eyes, absolutely yes! But if you're not true to yourself, how can you look yourself in the eye?

All this recent dectective work/sluthing/A is B is C stuff is very destructive to relationships there. I doubt if I'm the only one suffering/feeling bad about all this suspicion and evidence and dredging up of proof of alternate IDs. I'll think I'll go back to posting pictures and trying to ignore all that junk. I only started reading those threads because I thought I was woefully ignorant of the politics and the relationships there and that it would help me to know what other people think about still other people there. But all it's done is lowered my enjoyment of Literotica immensely. :( I have learned one thing though in this reading experiment: the politics and relationships and who-is-who shit and all the overwhelming TMI doesn't change a single thing for me. I still like the same people who I like and dislike the same people who I dislike.

Wow, this was longer than I expected it to me. Guess I'm feeling some stress about the issue. Pictures are definitely in order now. :) The only question is... which kind? ;)

That's right. I instead decided to join the military in service of my country for eight years. I went to flight school for a year and memorized a stack of books five feet high so I could fly helicopters. I deployed to two combat zones in Iraq and Somalia so people like you wouldn't have to. Lucky for you, some people still see honor in voluntary military duty so countries like ours won't have to institute a universal draft to support a military force.

I fully support your right to look like a retard. I also believe that I've absolutely earned the right to call you a fucking idiot.

How does it feel to be dumber than a soldier, college boy?

By the way, the condescending attitude goes far in making friends of all the people here who haven't attended college. Really nice.

It wouldn't be so bad if you just once had proven that you have any shred of the intellect you purport to have, but your posts are just so unbelievably dumb that I'm frankly shocked that you even graduated high school. In fact, I don't believe it.

I call bullshit.

It's amusing to see you represent yourself as some sort of authority on making friends.

As someone who just spent the last 3 hours grading a stack of undergraduate essays, I can sadly state in confidence that there seems to be no correlation between writing ability, coherent reasoning and college attendance.

I honestly don't know what education is about anymore. I need a new job.

I'm all about the love.

And some peanuts, too.

Whew! I feel like kicking back and having a beer after all that.
Any other takers?
