Where's Waldo? Who gives a damn?

All I do is find Waldo.
It's not even hard.
My eye lands right on the grinning little fuck!

Yeah, I said it.

Now if I could just get a fucking avatar....
It's a rite of passage. If you can handle being ignored for awhile, that means you're not a sobbing little pussy.
Kinda like a sorority or fraternity.
There's hazing, but it always helps if you offer the oral sex.

Yeah, I'm getting nowhere with that too! The "edit" doesn't seem to work!

I've been told in the past that depicting a pussy (my favourite thing) as an avatar is in "poor taste".

Obviously the berk who said that has never tasted one....

I've posted this before, but it hasn't yet sunk in for some people:

The use of asterisks, underscores and hyphens in place of quotation marks. Since when did this abomination become Standard Internet Practice? Is this being taught in some schools now? Are people just plain stupid? (I'd call them lazy, but they are using some sort of punctuation, just not the correct ones.)

Correct: Suzy said, "I'll be right over."

Incorrect: *I'll be right over* _I'll be right over_ -I'll be right over-

Can you see the difference? Does this make sense?

If you want to highlight a specific non-verbal word or phrase, use italics.

Why are people so mother-fucking stupid? Anyone with a high school education should know this.

This is right Ek. But of course language is fluid and does change over time, particularly as writing technologies develop. However the Internet practice is that *...* and _..._ are used for *emphasis* (like that) when italics aren't available. They should never substitute for quotation marks.

The dash however is becoming a valid substitute for a pause, or afterthought, when writing in conversational style, and I do use this myself, when a comma or semicolon just doesn't seem to quite do it. And anyway, colons and semis have a somewhat different job, namely apposition, and could even be confusing in some situations.

On what internet site are italics "[not] available?" I can't think of a single forum where the option to italicize text isn't readily at hand. Here, for instance, it is as easy as selecting the text you want to highlight and clicking the I button above the body of the message.

And that "language is fluid" bullshit is a cop-out. If you know the correct usage of punctuation and are going to make an effort to use the wrong marks, why not use the right ones? What fucking sense does it make to use asterisks or underscores when you should be using some other form of highlighting?

Yes, writing technologies have changed. The use of italics and bold have become commonplace since the advent of desktop publishing in the Nineties. Before then the average typewriter user had to make do with underlining text. Now you're trying to tell me that future writers will use something other than those two proper text formatting tools in order to get the same message across? That they will use tools that are totally unsuitable for the job? Please.

I refuse to post in your yang thread and deny you the pleasure of symmetry.

Hang on, I can't see any I or B buttons on this editor. It's the one that comes with the site and it's a real vanilla falvoured one. No buttons at all. Only a small window below with a very limited (I wish I could italicise that word) set of smileys.

Is there some choice available to use a more versatile editor? I'd be very glad to have one available...

(time passes)

I found the damned thing! Fairly well hidden on the "options" page. I therefore concede your point. More smileys too. That's cool....

:)

PS. Now, how the hell does one create an avatar? The "edit" avatar link doesn't seem to work, and I can't find an option. Only a "profile pic". Are these the same thing?

Only four weeks 'til the solstice

Ahh, summertime! There aren't enough hours in the day.

Between running, hiking, bicycling, swimming, tennis, and sailing I can't find enough time to read books and post on ol' Lit. Enjoy the next four weeks of lengthening daylight. I hate the arrival of the solstice; it's all downhill from there.

You need a hundred posts to be able to add your own avatar. Profile pictures are different.

Aha! Thanks for the info. It'd be nice if the help system told us these little details....

BTW, would an avatar of a very neat little creampie pussy be considered "tasteless" here? I got pounded on another site by a bunch of puritanical closet moralists for using same.

I do notice that a lot of avatars are quite explicit, though they tend to be mostly (or even all) males. But as a creampied pussy is one of my favourite things, it would not be inappropriate to me !!!

And to be frank, I intensely dislike "hidden" censorship. Well, censorship in general actually, but of course one must be conscious of the feelings of the majority - if one can know that at all of course.

On that other site, I suspect the majority were actually silent, and it was just a clique of vocal "moral" furies that descended on me, but there's no way to actually know for certain of course.

I certainly do not want to upset people, but I'm also not about to hide my virtues or my sins under a bushel....

A pussy? How original! I've never seen one of those before. By all means, do it!

You don't need our permission to be just like everyone else. Welcome to Lit, Mr. Lemming.

when people use 'cum' instead of 'come' or 'welcome' in dialogue to be flirty or dirty or whatever it comes off as really cliche and stupid to me

LOL!

OK, I'll do it when the chance arises.. :D

One thing I particularly like about this site is it's got killfiles. Y'can obliterate someone who insists on getting inyerface....

Actually I've been doing a fairly extensive tour today, and I have found a few pussy shots, but it seems in the main that most of the gals don't like showing their best feature. Sad.

And of course the picture nazi (as someone called it) doesn't help either....

Why would you assume that every woman's best feature is her pussy? I've got an adorable smile, pretty eyes, lustrous dark curly hair, and beautiful breasts. Oh, and I also think that I have really nice-looking hands. Honestly I'd say that any day, any of those things are my best physical feature. Maybe some women's best feature is her pussy. But it can't always be so.

I have shown mine in a discreet sort of way. But I don't do it more often because I think the standard close-up cropped shot of a woman's genitals is photographically rather dull. And I post first and foremost to entertain myself.

Just my take on things.

You might want to read this.

You're also nicely on the way to kinda pissing off Ekserb...just so's ya know.
And at the very least, I'm enjoying it.

Ew. Have you seen it? Please. It's pinkish-grey, has lots of unattractive folds and crevices - it looks a lot like every other brain.

And trust me, they all taste the same, too.

I found somebody's else's brain on another site, and have been posting with it in order to pass it off as my own. ;)
