I'm a huge fan of mushy nick-names...but have never been game enough to call any of my boyfriends any! My cat, however, has a few - Pookie (and variations such as poochie, poo-chi-chia, pookle) smoochie (smoop), sweet peaches (or sweet peaches and cream) sweetie, puppy, lover (because he sleeps in my bed) and scrumptious bum.
I have a few more, but I think I've embarrassed myself enough.

Funny...I've been told that calling a woman "babe" is derogatory and demeaning, but all the women I've loved (and some whom I've just really liked) seem to enjoy being called that. Not sure if it's how I say it or just the nature of the women I hang out with...

Here in good ole Bawlmor {that's Baltimore for anyone that doesn't know} everyone calls everyone else "Hun" and they always say "It's just a Bawlmor thang"

When I first started dating my current BF he said, "I need a nickname for you. All of my girlfriends have always had nicknames." Um... I chose my lit nickname because one ex used to call me 'puppy'. I think it was out of exasperation at my boisterousness. Or maybe it was the butt-sniffing. <shrug>
